IMHO, I think it is videos like this that get the average FSX owner frustrated that he can't get this type of rendering. What they don't know is how heavily this video was modified to look like that. The last line in your comments on YouTube explains some of it "Sony Vegas Pro" and probably recorded at low frame rates and increased in the editor. Videos like this should explain the process taken to achieve this level of rendering so the average FSX owner knows it is not flyable like that.

I personally don't find such videos 'realistic' - there's not really anything real about them, just over dramatic effects.

Whenever I watch a film... there's always a point, a plot, a story. That... had nothing.

Perhaps the title is misleading. How about the best short Video of FSX special effects?

Too much post processing in that video, so definitely not the best IMO.

I'll take a little different tack and evaluate it on the assumption it's meant to be enjoyed as a video production in and of itself, not a showcase for what is (or is not) possible in FSX.  It has a nice vibe overall and its creator has decent chops and obviously knows his or her way around the video production software being utilized.

 

I thought the color flashes (1:08, 2:26, 3:11) were unnecessary and a distraction.  The music is also not my style, but that says more about me than it does about the music.  I loathe Autotuned vocals and will celebrate the day they become passe.  My tastes aside, I do think the music works with the imagery.

 

If I were looking to hire someone to create a marketing video this producer would be in the running.  Likewise, if I were an educator grading video productions, I'd give this an A-.

Those are not "FSX" special effects, that is Post editing in Sony Vegas Pro. 

I wouldn't call it a movie. I don't think I've ever seen an FSX "movie." The camera angles were very nice, but like others have said, too much color tweaking.

Yes, it's almost as old as the sim, it has no fancy effects, quality is awful by today's standards and I hate the music more than I hate most things in life (not The Valkyrie though), but it still is the only fun FSX video ever made.

That "Vectors" one is indeed fun, when I saw this thread I immediately though about it although it has been a long time since I last watched it... I think that was when I was like 13 or 14.
