Anyway need moar info - you guys that have had it a few days.... Still like it?

What's your favorite feature?

It is sloow... that is the not so good part, but the graphics are awesome, even better than the C172.

The GNS530 looks great in the panel, the sounds are amazing, and the plane handles really well..

Feels like flying the real thing!

It is one of those airplanes where you can just sit in the cockpit, and look at every switch and gauge

and get comfortable with your environment, and then fire up the engine...

Bert

Lol Bert this is the GTN thread - I presume you're referencing the new Cherokee?

But thanks got the review - I'll probably cave in eventually

How large is it?  It looks like it is as tall as a 530 and 430 combined.  How do you integrate it into an aircraft?...e.g. Duke, Carenado aircraft, etc.

My understanding is if you have the RXP 430 the GTN 650 will fit into the same spot, however the GTN 750 is larger than the RXP 530 and will need some additional VC panel modes? Hopefully soon we will see developers making that an option....

Correct...

GNS430 and GTN650  6.25" W,  2.65" H

GNS530  6.25" W, 4.6" H

GTN750  6.25" W, 6.0" H

Bert

Can someone explain the differences between the GTN750 and the GTN650?  Can either one be integrated into the VC of any add-on aircraft or is it add-on specific?  (ie. which one would best fit into the VC of the RealAir duke 750 or 650?)

Think of it as the 750=530 and the 650=430, But as Bert posted, there are size differences. Bert, do they seem to get "skewed" since the VC opening are made for a 430 and 530?

Notice the 750 also has audio panel and transponder functions , so for space wise, consider it a 530 + transponder or audio panel.  The 650 also has transponder functionality.  With a full stack you have audio panel, Com1/Nav1 Com2/Nav2 transponder.  The only other units that might be in the stack would be an autopilot and ADF

I am still holding out, might jump on it when A2A updates their birds with it.  I was playing with the Garmin 650 trainer, I like the functionality, tho it will take some getting used to.

For 3d panels, like the Duke, you need the original authors to modify the panel...

RealAir is still on the fence in terms of deciding if they should invest the effort..

Bert

Anyone know if this will integrate with the Aerosoft Twin Otter Ext, as the RXP will not?

The product page for these units says they will integrate with all add-on aircraft in your FSX library (and hopefully soon all add-on aircraft in your P3Dv2.2 library!).  Does these mean they will always work as 2D panels and selectively work as 3D panels depending on the author of the add-on aircraft??
