July 29, 201411 yr If I had a steam account or significantly large steam library I would probably get it, just for the sake of organization. I have absolutely no interest in going into steam for any purpose, so I don't plan to make any purchase. Regards, Jeremy Chesney

July 29, 201411 yr No way that I'll buy it on Steam again. I own the original DVD's but for me FSX is history, P3D is the new future.
July 29, 201411 yr No FSX is history, Dovetail do not have the rights to alter any code so what is broken will stay broken. I have a better platform now in P3D and unlike FSX it is still being developed, the first time I saw those cloud shadows I knew the game was up for FSX.

July 29, 201411 yr Steam is a very convenient way of holding my library of games, and it doesn't pose a draconian kind of DRM that limits the amount of times you can install a game or locks it to your computer. I can install or uninstall my games whenever and wherever I want, and they automatically update. The fact that I can also chat with my friends and look up things on the Internet while playing also makes it a great solution. Of course it's not for everyone, but there's a reason it's so popular. OK, thanks for the explanation. I can see why it is popular for some users, but I guess it isn't for me. David Porrett
July 29, 201411 yr I own a large library of games through Steam. ARMA, Far Cry, GTA, fun arcade nonsense, and IL2:CoD, among many other things. I will continue to use Steam when appropriate. It is a very convenient service and I would recommend it to anyone interested in PC gaming. They have some incredible sales a few time a year as well, that allow me to scoop up a handful of titles that interest me at a great price. That said, no I will not be replacing my boxed FSX with a Steam version. Completely unnecessary, as my current version is packed with addons, running smooth and solid. and I have myh install/reinstall process down to a science (mapped out in a doc). Even if they get some exclusive content or bug fixes... not interested. Clearly DTG didn't secure rights to improve gameplay in any way whatsoever, so I'd move to P3D before buying in to FSX again. I will keep my eye on DTGs release of "?????" in 2015, but I'm not expecting much more than a FTP map with overpriced, underwhelming addon content. I bought DCS through the DCS website. I bought Rise Of Flight and IL2: BoS through their respective websites as well. For some reason, I like to keep these away from Steam. I feel better having an account linked directly to the dev/publisher, as I take these "games" more seriously than the typical triple-A titles that collect e-dust after 2 months. Aaron Thacker
July 29, 201411 yr Steam will be better. It will be the same FSX as you have now, not anything better.
July 29, 201411 yr Not for us casual , fun users. yes, for you as well, ...simulation can be fun LOL. If I had a steam account or significantly large steam library I would probably get it, just for the sake of organization. I have absolutely no interest in going into steam for any purpose, so I don't plan to make any purchase. yep, same here and I do have an account, just have no use for it. If they eliminate the need to fix things before you even start using FSX (like the UIAutomationCore.dll and HIGHMEMFIX fixes), fix at least a few more major issues and add a good multiplayer component, I will probably get it on a sale. I have never had to deal with either of those, guess we do different kids of flying. Best, Michael KDFW
July 29, 201411 yr Don't see any reason to buy it again. To make someone richer for an incomplete piece of software that has little to no improvements to offer, sounds ridiculous. Ric Elmore
July 29, 201411 yr Commercial Member If it goes into a big sale some time then I will, otherwise not.

July 29, 201411 yr Commercial Member I can't see a good reason why I would at this point, I've already got two copies of FSX that I don't use since P3D2 came along. Maybe I'll find some compelling reason to do so when it actually happens, for example a really good addon from a really good developer that wasn't available any other way. That strikes me as a suicide scenario for the developer in question though.
July 29, 201411 yr No, own two copies of FSX and it would have to improve a lot to even think about it. Bob
