L-39, Anyone Still Fly It?

Featured Replies

You're right Bert. My quirk is that in 7 years of flight simming I have never used the radios! God knows how I've survived this long! I do have buttons a switches for almost every other thing though,

Could be be you're being sarcastic Ron? Nonetheless I'm extremely happy for you, because you have plenty of knobs to fiddle with

Cheers, Bert

I like this add on so much that I actually plan on building a full scale ("western-ized") version now that my LJ45 sim is sold. Kick the tires, light the fires, and go, Go, GO! is the name of the game with this- and can be built very affordably. I'll be offering back-lit panels for sale for it as well.

Nice paintjob, I took a swing at that one myself a couple of years ago, but was stopped short by hardware problems. Never got to finish it and didn't want to start over again. Just a suggestion, the team is registered in Estonia nowadays. The planes all have Estonian registrations (ES-XXX). Plane #4 is ES-TLN if I'm not mistaken. They don't see too active anymore. They are based in Tallinn (EETN) and I see their planes there all the time, but nearly always in the same location and I can't find much information about them doing shows.

One of the jets is in the hangar next to one I frequently drop by when I'm in Tallinn, maybe I can go inside and have a quick peek if you need more details ;).

It's nice to get some feedback and it's certainly very interesting that you can get 'up close and personal' but I've finished the paint now and won't be revisiting it. But thanks very much for your interest.

Downloaded this the other day, Ron, thanks for putting in all the time and effort and tender-loving "zabota".

After reading about the L-39 here I went and purchased it. Absolutely great.

Hi, that will be the best decision you made today and probably all week. I guarantee it will make you grin and you will dream about it. I gotta get a life!

All the best

Michael

Actually if somebody would be willing, a minor facelift for the cockpit could be welcome. Even more so if someone could create cockpit texts in German (DDR) and in Czech/Slovak as well. Would add a ton to authenticity. Lotussim was not interested in that, I asked already.

Nurmblitz- I think that there is a few files that may do what you're looking for but not certain.  Check the L39 forums. There's lots of interesting stuff in there.

Propane- I have nearly got all the hardware issues resolved one way or another (at least for my needs). You're welcome to contact me off-board if you ever get interested again.

I may have included a 2d popup autopilot for those long hauls hehe

I read with interest that you added a 2d autopilot popup for this plane.  I would like to have autopilot abilities for altitude hold and heading hold for this plane.  Would you please tell me what you did to get this panel.  I figure I have to make changes to the panel.cfg and aircraft.cfg files.  Also, which panel did you use?  I'd appreciate any help you can provide me.

Copy your panel.cfg for desired aircraft and rename it "orig_panel.cfg" then add the following to the default panel.cfg and save it.

Hi mslim!

Thanks for the quick reply.  I guess I also have to activate autopilot in the L-39 aircraft.cfg file?

That 737 ap stack works, or you can use the original bendix king stack from my thread at the Lotus forums

Thanks Ryan,I appreciate your help.  BTW, before I posted today, I tried to pm you but AVSIM said that you cannot receive any more messages! FYI.

Outstanding paint job. Looks like a Euro-Supercar.

I'm quite sure it's faster than even those beasts.
