March 29, 201511 yr You can't, it has to be built into the model. Like Richard said only a few add ons have this feature unfortunately

March 31, 201511 yr More Info on VC Rain Effects: https://fsfxpackages.com/en/blog/2014/08/15/vc-rain-effects/ Is Prepar3D looking into that to add it as a feature?
March 31, 201511 yr I never bothered with PrecipitFX.. My major gripe with FSX rain and snow was always the "warp speed" effect that you see when looking forward.. And it seems the new textures do nothing to fix that.. I can't stand that "warp speed" effect.. Particularly with snow. It's there with rain too, but at least with the lighter textures it not quite as glaring. And from what I can tell, that silly effect is still in P3D too. Mark Keith

March 31, 201511 yr I bought PrecipFX a several days ago. It hasn't rained since! :( The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
March 31, 201511 yr never bothered with PrecipitFX.. My major gripe with FSX rain and snow was alwaysthe "warp speed" effect that you see when looking forward.. Then you need PrecipitFX, that is the exact reason I bought it and it fixes it for me

March 31, 201511 yr Does anyone still have raindrops on the windscreen in the piston Duke after installing these effects? I don't see the raindrops anymore. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 31, 201511 yr Then you need PrecipitFX, that is the exact reason I bought it and it fixes it for me Hummm, seems I had watched a video, or got reports that it was still there.. ?? I'll have to look into that more. The warp speed effect where it looks like all precip comes from a single point ahead of you and looks like a cone, makes me grit my teeth. I don't see how just a texture change could fix that, being it's hard wired into the sim. ?? You sure it's not still there, and just less noticeable with the new textures? Do you own PrecipitFX? Nope.. Because I had got reports, or saw a video, "forgot which", that said the warp speed effect was still there. EDIT.. I guess I was going by reports from another simmer who was mistaken.. I went and watched some videos on utoob, and it does seem like that silly warp speed effect is gone. So I will probably spring for it, being that looks to be the case. Edit again.. I do notice that where the tip of the cone used to be, seems to be mostly blanked out.. So you don't see much precip looking directly ahead, but mostly on the sides, while looking forward. So I guess the cone may still be there to some extent, but the tip is now blanked out for the most part. Still a pretty good improvement would say.. Mark Keith

April 1, 201511 yr Agreed, I've not noticed any "warp effect" since I installed, which is worth the price of admission alone!
April 1, 201511 yr When ASN causes rain in FSX I still do not get water splashing from the airplane wheels. Anyone else?
