Traffic Optimizer for P3D

Featured Replies

Hi

I am testing this application, but, I have installed SimConnect 10.0.61637.0. When launching AirTrafficManager I get a Message saying Could Not Load File or Assembly .... SimConnect, Version=10.0.61242.0

How can I get this SimConnect version?

Regards, David.

I had the same issue with AirtrafficManager. At some point in the past, I had taken ownership of winsxs simconnect files and deleted them. In doing so, I corrupted any possibility of reinstall, or so I thought.  As was my case, you do not have the simconnect dll version 10.0.61242.0 in your C:\Windows\winsxs folder, or it is corrupted. Most info available on various forums will tell you to reinstall simconnect FSX SP1 from redist folder of P3D, but you will find out that the install seems to work but no file is added to winsxs folder. In that case many will tell you to re-install Windows as the only solution to resolving corruption of winsxs. Not so.

Editing windows registry could potentially make you go bald...so for god sakes...proceed with caution and back up registry before editing.

I solved the issue by going to regedit and searching for all instances of "10.0.61242.0" and deleting it. Then I reinstalled simconnect version 10.0.61242.0 from P3D redist folder and all was finally back to normal. Good luck!

61637 is the build number of simconnect 61259. 61355 is simconnect 61242. As I said in an earlier post, simconnect 61242 is compatible with SP1a FSX Standard or FSX Deluxe without Acelleration installed, and still works perfectly with Acelleration, minus the race events. Anyway always install 60905, 61242, and 61259 just in case.

Excellent advice. I always install all flavours of SimConnect on both the main and client machines. Get the odd SimConnect crash, but never any incompatibility issues.

I managed to start this utility once but it constantly streams commands in the window and I cannot select anything.

I've tried removing and reinstalling it but nothing helps.

How can I stop it doing this?

Sounds like you have  SimConnect issue ... or did you check "Verbose" in AI Traffic Manager?  Are you starting it after running P3D or before?

After I installed the SimConnect version this tool wants (FSX SP1), I ran this product and it free'd up about 400MB VAS at EGLL at 50 setting -- very impressive indeed.  Many thanks to the author.

Cheers, Rob.

HI Rob,

I installed the 3 versions mentioned from the redist folder.

I can't check anything because of the constant stream of information in the window at the bottom.

I have tried starting it before and after P3D but it doesn't change anything.

I want my VAS back too!

Do you have any SimConnect configuration files?

C:\Users\Rob\Documents

SimConnect.cfg

C:\Users\Rob\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2

SimConnect.xml

C:\Users\Rob\Documents\Prepar3D v2 Files

SimConnect.ini

Can you post a screenshot of what you see?

Cheers, Rob.

Hi Rob,

I don't have any of those files at those locations, should I? Which installer do I need to use?

So far, I have only used the following 3 SimConnect.msi installers found in the' E:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface' folders.

1. E:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface\FSX-RTM\retail\lib

2. E:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface\FSX-SP1\retail\lib

3. E:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib

From what you say, do a search in C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS for 'simconnect' and you should see these 4 items:

Got them? Then you're all fixed up, nothing else to do.

Only if you run a remote PC (networked setup) or want to do some SimConnect diagnostics.

The screenshots I wanted to see were of your problem (the streaming text), not your directory structures.

Cheers, Rob.
