December 17, 201411 yr This may not be new to some of you, but I had not seen this statement before. We received this this morning in regards to the upcoming Steam release. Here is the direct quote embedded in an email to us from the Dovetail PR company; We have updated it to include all standard Steam functionality, we’ve removed CD checking and combined the components of Gold Edition into a single installation. The major change we've made is in replacing the now-defunct Gamespy multiplayer systems with Steam features, enabling multiplayer to work seamlessly once again. Additionally, some outstanding bugs have been resolved. Our aim was in this first instance has been to ensure that the software will run for as many people as possible rather than radically improving or updating it.
December 17, 201411 yr Thank you Tom....Sorry for sounding like a dope, FSX is been released on the 18th which is tomorrow, as its 6.30PM here now, what time zone does Steam work off? I'm on English/Irish time obviously. So for me the 18th is in five and a half hours?
December 17, 201411 yr Thanks for posting this, Tom. Unfortunately, a even direct statement from DTG cannot stop the relentless wave of rumors and doomsday predictions. Onward and Upward! Aaron Aaron Thacker
December 17, 201411 yr Author Is the full press release available on AVSIM's front page yet? What press release? Read my post again. Poppet, they are located in the UK.
December 17, 201411 yr For those wondering, Steam always updates on 13h00 EST. So that would be 18h00 UK time. All new releases are made available at that time.
December 17, 201411 yr Has anyone heard from DTG about whether they are including an SDK installation? I (and others) asked about this on their FB page but there has been no response. Barry Friedman
