March 3, 201511 yr AI ships added a whole new dimension to my flying. The difference it makes in tropical environments like the Caribbean or Maldives is amazing. Suddenly the environments of these paradises come alive with cruise ships, freighters, and sailboats all over. So much more believable now. The models are so well crafted, I can't help but pause the sim while I fly over them to scope out all their micro-details. Ethan Edelson
March 3, 201511 yr Author Hi - as it is today exactly two years ago that I uploaded the first part of the project here on avsim it is of course extremely nice to hear your feedback - it has required more than a couple of hours from me and team members to get the project to where it is now . But alone the first pack has here from Avsim been downloaded close to 10.000 times, which far exceeds my wildest expectations when I started the project. Add to that the downloads from other sites and all the additional packages done since the start of the project - and more will come
March 4, 201511 yr Hi Henrik,my congratulations to you and the team to the huge success of the project. I can confirm that the interest in ship traffic in FSX and P3D is enormous.Only for the routes "Port of Hamburg" I could count more than than 1,600 downloads during the past four weeks .I am sure that the success of the project will continue in the coming years. I can only say PS: The ship catalouge will be updated with the ships of your new pack during the next days. Regards Manfred Grüße / Greetings aus / from Hamburg (the most beautiful city in the world) Manfred
March 4, 201511 yr Author The fix for the AI ship wakes in P3Dv2.5 is now online also here on avsim http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxscen&DLID=189063 Manfred, Good to hear that also the Hamburg routes are having success - I saw the lively discussion on www.fs-piloten.de, but I will spare you for comments or intervention in German Thanks for linking to the fix in your thread there. Regards Henrik
March 5, 201511 yr Thanks Manfred, I found the Hamburg routes from your post here, they will be installed and enjoyed Cheers,
March 5, 201511 yr Hello, My AI ship traffic is not showing up, so I need an explantion. After I found this problem I deleted all other ai traffic that was not about ship and then I could see the AI Ships. I read the readme file saying that "you must convert all FS9 traffic files including air traffic files to FSX format. This is easily done for air traffic files in a few clicks using the AI Flight Planner AIFP" Then, in AIFP program I clicked on bulk traffic, convert fs 9 traffic to fsx, but after the whole process converting all AI traffic, problem still remains. Is there another option? Thank you!
March 5, 201511 yr Hello r0drig0, yes there is another option to convert the files. The program (payware) is called "AI Traffic Editor X" and you can find it at http://www.ai-traffic-editor-x.de/. It is available in German and English language and you can download the complete handbook befor buying. Also you can use the 30 day trial edition. Grüße / Greetings aus / from Hamburg (the most beautiful city in the world) Manfred
March 5, 201511 yr Commercial Member Took a look at the downloads page here... must be a dozen or so AI downloads by now. Is there a single download that wraps all these into one or best to just download one at a time? Thx Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!) Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11), EVGA 1300W PSUNetgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displaysFull array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.
March 5, 201511 yr Author A few screenshots of the latest addition to the project - now that the effects issue in P3Dv2.5 is resolved (at least to a decent level) I can return to modeling to finish the package. Clutch, you still need to download one at the time... see the order on the first page of this thread... new things keeps coming in so an all-in-one would be outdated the day after. But it is free so I guess the work of installing is survivable... Anyway I will do an all in one after the last package. Date still uncertain - and most likely it will be split with an P3D and a FSX package as not just effects but also textures appear differently due to the improved shadow options in P3D.

March 5, 201511 yr And a few ships for the Great Lakes in collaboration with Knud, who has been busy with the repaints ------------------------------------------------------------ Unbelievable....wow....simply......wow....
March 6, 201511 yr Superb rendition of canadian steamship line (CSL) ships. Spruce Glen and all the others Glen series frequently sail the St-Lawrence seaway. PierreP3D when its freezing in Quebec....well, that's most of the time...C-GDXL based at CYQB for real flying when its warming up...
March 6, 201511 yr This marine project by these talented artists, is a SERIOUS upgrade to the flight realm. I downloaded the Hamburg ships and routes from Manfred, and after, took off from Hamburg....kept the river in sight, and headed out to the coast. What a wonderful, and immersive experience, to see ship traffic, heading in both up, and down-river (container, and cruise ship) directions. To have real world 'life/animation' upon the seas, rivers, and soon; the Great Lakes,...is a most serious advancement to the 'complete' real-world deployment for the Flight Simulator realm. We now have within the MS franchise (FSX/P3D), people (ORBX FLOW), animal life (ORBX FLOW), cars upon the roadways, A.I. aviation traffic, and finally after many years of sterile water surfaces, 3rdP commercial tonnage, that follows actual routes and patterns. Folks, for those that have not yet delved into (and installed) this most generous free-ware gift and the energies spent to produce it, by the artists mentioned, and introduced in this thread,....you are so SERIOUSLY missing out on the final phase to make your flight environment, 'as real as it gets'......if you have not read the directions...and taken the time to install the package from the first post in this thread. Some of the best flight experiences can be had following the St Lawrence River from the mouth, up past Quebec City, Quebec, (Canada) and then through the Thousand Islands of Ontario, Canada...and I can't wait to see the world-class marine traffic that will soon be making its way from the Atlantic Ocean, up...eventually (like the Edmund Fitzgerald), towards, and past White Fish Bay, in the Great Lake of Superior!!! This will be HUGE!.... Henrik, Manfred, and to all others introduced in this thread, or behind the scenes of this project....THANK YOU...THANK YOU so much for this...most wonderful and until now,...missing part of the flight simulation world....much gratitude for this! Mitch (Sesquashtoo)
March 6, 201511 yr It will still take a day or two before we are finished with the wake patch for P3Dv2.5 - meanwhile good news for those waiting for shipping for the Great Lakes. Jean-Pierre released his AI models of the Edmund Fitzgerald and the Arthur M. Anderson including the route of the two ships on the night Edmund Fitzgerald disappeared. You can find the files here http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxscen&DLID=189002 Henrik, how do you use the Ed Fitz scenery? Do I start in Duluth, Minnesota? Post Edit: I started in Duluth, and also, near Whitefish Bay, Minn...but no Ed Fitz. Perhaps an Edmund Fitzgerald adventure could be written by somebody, where you can run it...and set you up for the E.F. encounter, on the lake, or at the staring point of the fateful voyage.... Second question,...does the E.F. carry on to what would have been its destination, that fateful night, or does the E.F. disappear from view at the coordinates of the actual real-world ship wreck site? It would be so great to see her, in simulation...make it to port...
