January 13, 201511 yr Hello, As I am sure everyone has heard of the famous PMDG statement 'If there is no market demand, we will not make it.' Well this is how I think we can show them market demand (using the 777-300(non-er) as a favourable example). Do you wish to have a PMDG 777-300(non-er)? A show of hands . Arnav Agarwal
January 13, 201511 yr I think as flight simmers we all want every version of the 777 with every engine variant, but from the developer point of view it takes up valuable resources in people, programming time, funding, research, etc. I would rather they invest these resources in a different aircraft. January 13, 201511 yr Moderator This is a demonstration of how we can show developers market interest. (But I am itching for a 773) Don't waste your time. PMDG does their own market research and has their own plans. They've mentioned that Avsim forum members are a tiny fraction of their overall customer base, so a poll here won't influence them in the least. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

What other customer base is bigger than AVSIM or any public sim community? I am assuming they are referring to a professional client? Ric Elmore
January 13, 201511 yr They've mentioned that Avsim forum members are a tiny fraction of their overall customer base And yet they choose to have their support forum here... Mmm
January 13, 201511 yr Nope, some guys from PMDG have made the statement, quite some time ago, that the largest part of their customer base is not active on any flightsim forum, be it this or another. As such, it can only be good that they do their own marketing research, as results on AVSIM might not be representative. Oh, and to answer your question... Thanks, but no thanks. The differences would be too insignificant for me. I'd like to see a -200ER, and maybe the -200 (preferably in the same extension), but that's about it. Personal opinion, of course. January 13, 201511 yr Moderator What other customer base is bigger than AVSIM or any public sim community? I am assuming they are referring to a professional client? Don't know, you'd have to ask them. But whenever these polls come up in their forum that's what they always say. I believe it though, contrary to what a lot of Avsim members believe, there are probably vast amounts of PMDG users out there who don't use Avsim or participate in FS related forums. And yet they choose to have their support forum here... Mmm Just a matter of convenience I'm sure and the fact that Avsim is one of the largest FS forums on the net, not to mention that Robert and Tom have had a relationship for a long time. I believe most of the actual customer support is done via their portal, but this doesn't mean that Avsim represents the majority of its users. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
January 13, 201511 yr I'd like to see a -200ER, and maybe the -200 (preferably in the same extension), but that's about it. Personal opinion, of course. Me too!!!! I want less capable planes to use in my sim. Its much more fun trying to plan flights at the limit of a planes envelope than say fueling a 200LR up with 50% fuel, watching it leap off a runway with miles to spare, all for a 8 hour trip across tue atlantic (which is my upper limit for simming!). Oh well, i guess I'm the minority. January 13, 201511 yr will never happen but i would like to see pmdg do an airbus a350, only one around is for x-plane
January 13, 201511 yr I'd like a 200ER. I'm honestly very surprised they made the LR rather than the ER. There are way more ERs out there than LRs.
January 13, 201511 yr I'm honestly very surprised they made the LR rather than the ER. The reasoning is actually quite "simple". If I remember correctly (one of) the most difficult part to get right in the sim, is correct modelling of engine behaviour. (including a thousand parameters we never think of as simmers). The 77L and the 77W are the only two models in the entire fleet that share a similar engine (though not always 100% the same), and have only THAT engine option. That's why the 77L was first, together with the 77F of course. If they wanted to release the 777-200ER as the first model, the release would have been much later, due to the three different engines which would need to be developed. Name available upon request
January 13, 201511 yr Author IMO PMDG need to do make as many variants possible but each with only one engine option... The most popular one. For example: 772RR, 77LRR, 773RR, 77WRR. (I do not know if RR engines for the T7 exist but it is only an example.) Reply to an earlier person's post: PMDG is mostly Boeing focused, so if you hope for an a350, look towards aerosoft and/or FSL. Arnav Agarwal
