January 26, 201511 yr As Dovetail can't change the FSX code I'm not sure how any improvement in running can be achieved They can change the code but they cant change "content" ZORAN
January 26, 201511 yr They can change the code but they cant change "content"The code changes they have been allowed to make are limited mostly relating to online game play. They can't fix existing bugs, they can't fix how FSX handles memory, etc. They don't have a licence to develop the simulation. So no changes of any significance.
January 26, 201511 yr Well I corrected what you said "they cant change". They can and have The Changes have been mentioned a zillion times on every flight forum there is and please lets not start another one  ZORAN
January 26, 201511 yr PMDG Staff: I'd like to get this install process straight and it seems simple: Starting with a clean install of FSX:SE without any PMDG 777 aircraft installed-- 1. Download the new master installer files from my account for the -200 and -300. 2. Run the installer for the -200. 3. Reboot and run FSX:SE 4. Load the -200 and make sure it's working. 5. Shutdown FSX:SE and install the -300 add on. 6. Reboot and run FSX:SE 7. Load the -300 and make sure it's working. 8. Run the Ops Center and have it check for any updates. Questions: 1. Is this the correct procedure? 2. After Step 7 above, will I have the equivalent of the 777-200 and -300 with SP1c/d?
January 26, 201511 yr Steve..That is the correct procedure. I followed that process yesterday and worked perfectly..and yes, you would have intalled the latest version. January 26, 201511 yr Hi, after OC update I have now two possibilities to update 777: Ps. Even if I open "View Changelog" of FSX version, there is stated: CHANGE LOG SP1d (v1.10.6320) - 0000000: Various changes to improve stability, speed and compatibility with FSX-SE. So, should I install any of them? I have FSX (not Steam Edition). Lukasz Trzaskowski
January 26, 201511 yr You don't have to reboot your windows machine between simconnect.msi install. You just need to restart FSX:SE. I did this multiple time during the weekend. Note : I actually ran quite a lot of combination of which version of simconnect.msi you need. You actually only need the one in the FSX-XPAC and Lib folder for the PMDG plane to work. It doesn't hurt though if you install the other version. Claude Desrosiers. https://fsprocedures.com Your home for all flight simulator related checklist.
January 26, 201511 yr Claude, you gave answer for me? I don't have FSX-SE version (as I mentioned). Lukasz Trzaskowski
January 26, 201511 yr So, should I install any of them? I have FSX (not Steam Edition). No need to install update SP1d if you are only using FSX. There were no changes to the PMDG 77X other than necessary to install into FSX:SE. Dan Downs KCRP
January 27, 201511 yr Well I corrected what you said "they cant change". They can and have The Changes have been mentioned a zillion times on every flight forum there is and please lets not start another one  Zoran, So basically you were just being pedantic. I know Dovetail has made some changes, but they are very limited in scope and not a continuing development. Microsoft have not sold them the rights to do that. People buying FSX:SE thinking FSX will be developed again are deluding themselves.
January 27, 201511 yr Zoran, So basically you were just being pedantic. I know Dovetail has made some changes, but they are very limited in scope and not a continuing development. Microsoft have not sold them the rights to do that. People buying FSX:SE thinking FSX will be developed again are deluding themselves. All I can say is that now I have the 777 installed for SE and some payware airports and Ground Environment X, that frame rates are up about 10% in most situations and overall smoothness is much improved. January 28, 201511 yr I just run the 'repair' option from the update. Now I read I didn't need the update because I don't have FSX SE. Am I in trouble now? Ed van de Vijver http://SeeBee-Creations.com
