That video is pretty old. Those are the old sounds in that one (default X-Plane, I think). I'll have to show off the new sounds soon-ish. We haven't released much info lately. The new sounds are prett

Wow. Looks like I may have to take out my Xplane 10 (box edition) and install it ASAP.

Once again, EXCELLENT JOB PMDG and..

kyle and Chris;

Apologies where due, rule breaking unintentional, corrections to signature complete.

Discourse regarding products was not meant to incite or be disrespectful, just a narrative expressing an opinion.

I'm leaving your airspace now, away from your overhead, my business is done.

Good luck with your XP venture.

For me the choice of a DC-6 couldn't probably have been a better one.

It'll server those who like Vintage, but still operating aircraft, and specially this one with such a wide history of service all around the World,

It'll serve as a good test for how the shortcoming of X-Plane's prop / turboprop models can be bypassed by a developer...

I actually think we got the important advance in the modeling of prop effects thanks to PMDG's initiative, otherwise we might well be waiting for some miracle to happen in this area...

It wasn't the most perfect solution ( the one Austin designed ) but it is still a solution, and I am eager to test it's effects in this dc-6 :)

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

Since the DC-6 will come with a Sperry A-12 autopilot, I don't think it's going to be capable of GPS navigation, the provided GPS is probably only there as an aid to provide visual navigation guidance.

I don't know what the capabilities of the A-12 are, but retrofitted oldies do have the GPS coupled with aircraft's navigation system. We will see about this one.

That plane looks very intimidating. There is no way in hell I will be able to fly this thing anywhere.

Lol..well said, I hope there will be a good hand-holding tutorial.

My thoughts as well... Let's hope that Bryan from FS2Crew will do his magic on this to provide us with an F/O.

Great news, looking forward to it on XP10 :)

Or we can hope for it to work with Shared Cockpit! :)

Well, I think here speaks mainly your personal disappointment, but don't speak for everybody.

At least I am very very happy about this choice.

Me too....

This is a great Airplane! I'm very happy to get the pleasure to fly this beauty around.

Craig,

The DC-6B will come equipped with a Sperry A-12 autopilot.

Oh fantastic.   That'd be my first choice but I feared you'd "decommisioned" it and we'd nothing!  great to hear, thanks.

To supplement what Henning said, have a look here, in the middle, above the LANDING GEAR label (in the middle, above the grey portion of the panel):

You can see the words "GYRO PILOT" and "ALTITUDE CONTROL."

Ah, well spotted, thanks Kyle, I'd not noticed that.   Perfect fit for this aircraft.

I've been waiting for this a long time...and knowing myself for the sucker that I am, I'll probably purchase both the X-Plane and FSX versions.

Thanks, RSR & Co.!

I wonder if this offering will come with some tasty 'extras' (eg. fuel or dispatch planners, etc).

Robert: I know you do not read all of the posts. If you did you would see how many times I have asked about the DC-6 in an off topic post. I do not have X-Plane but that is OK. All I can say is it looks up to the standards I would expect from any PMDG product and Thank You.

Thanks, Ron Fields
