To lose someone so intimately involved in our enjoyment of this wonderful hobby is a shock indeed.  My thoughts and condolences to the Fs2crew staff who have just lost a valued friend and colleague, and of course to Maik's family.

Condolences, may he Rest in Peace

Condolences, may he Rest in Peace, I loved hearing his voice flying the PMDG 777, there are times that it usually got annoying, but mostly I loved the instructions that he gave

While I never met Maik or even spoke with him, I cannot count the number of times his voice has guided me around the flight deck and made my awful flying somewhat bearable as a result. To lose someone so suddenly, so unexpectedly, is such an intense and painful loss.

I did not know Maik nor did I ever interact with him but I wanted to no doubt leave my condolences here. As an English major, I found Froogle's words to be much more concise and poignant than the ones I had in my head (and I was of course jealous). And then I realized who Froogle was and that he was the very chap who turned me onto FS2Crew.

And then it all made me realize how small this world is sometimes. An aviation incident that took someone we all know. Who was on a plane halfway around the world and that I may have never actually interacted with face-to-face with but that many of us talked to often to help us with our hobby.

Tragedy will strike us all, in one form or another. Yet I hope that, with each passing day afterwards, the pain will ease.

Best,

Greg

Bryan, I am in a state of shock after reading the news, so sorry to hear about Maik.

I also didn't know him personally but as with anyone who is part of the small, tight-knit FS community it certainly brings the reality of these events home (and it's been a bad year for aviation).

My hometown also lost some, the two Aussies on board were from nearby.

Sincere condolences to you and the family on the loss of your friend.

I can't express how sad I am to hear this, I didn't know Maik personal as well. But I know how it is being an avid aviation enthutiast, working as cabin crew and finished commercial pilot training, trying to become something in the real world of aviation - sadly that chance he shall never have. But I wish for him that he can now soar in the skies for all eternity.

My upmost heartfelt condolences goes to Maik's family and you his FS2Crew family.

My deepest condolences to all those near and dear to him in this tragic time.

Today, from 16:00hrs onwards, I, and many other flight simulator enthusiasts, will take to the virtual sky's in memory of our fellow enthusiast Maik Korolczuk. Maik, along with 149 others, sadly lost their lives over the French Alps on Germanwings Flight 9525. Flying the same route that Maik flew with Skywards Virtual on the 23rd March from Copenhagen to Dubai Emirates Flight UAE 152. I, for one, will be honoured by Maiks presence in my virtual cockpit as my FS2Crew Co-pilot. RIP Maik, you are missed.
