May 7, 201511 yr Author It's a very cleverly built water reservoir! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v137/Hierophant/FSX/AYPY_Lake_zps2vuzn3ja.jpg Ah, I see. Yeah, I have FTX Vectors installed just to avoid these kinds of reservoirs Anyways, it's not a mesh problem exactly, it's a vector information problem. Stock vectors was only designed to work with stock mesh. Anyways, after a review of Europe to make sure the problems in Poland and the Baltics aren't in other in the other Euro tiles, we've decided that patch 1.02 will be released tonight. Anticipate it to be about 500 MB. The problem was due to an oversight on in Jonathan Da Ferranti's 1-arcsecond data for the area. We had confused his data sources with data that we thought was based off Russian topographic maps, but instead it was actually resampled older SRTM data. Well, we made new tiles with the corrected NASA SRTM 3.0 data, and it seems to have cleaned up real nice! Daniel Moser
May 7, 201511 yr Please keep the future patches the same as the first one by naming the files the same, this way I can just cut and paste from the patch folder overwriting the old files. Much easier and saves hard drive space
May 7, 201511 yr Author Patch 1.02 is live! Thank you for seeding everyone! Bandwidth is such a large expense for a project of this magnitude, so thank you for embracing the bit Torrent option. It was designed to facilitate the movement of large datasets like FreeMeshX, so thank you for taking advantage of it and donating some of your bandwidth in return. Patch 1.02 is not cumulative!! You will need patch 1.01 found here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/467933-freemesh-x-global-10-release-announcement/page-13#entry3233580 Patch Description This patch fixes issues with artifacts in tiles N50E010 and N50E020.Regions affected are FreeMeshX - Europe, specifically the area of Poland and the Baltics. This region suffered from a few artifacts including elevation spikes and plateaus and small data voids. The problem was due to an oversight on in Jonathan Da Ferranti's 1 arc- second data for the area. We had confused his data sources with data that we thought was based off on accurate Russian topographic maps like much of his other terrain sets, but instead it was actually based on lousy, older, resampled SRTM2 data. We made new tiles with the corrected NASA SRTM 3.0 data, and it seems to have cleaned up the problems nicely. InstallationInside the FreeMeshX - 1.02 Patch folder you will find the FreeMeshX - Patches folder. The FreeMeshX - Patches folder will be the future folder for all corrected terrain tiles. This folder needs to be added to the scenery library with a higher priority over all FreeMeshX regions. In other words, the terrain files in this folder will be loaded last to correct any faulty tiles in the 1.0 release. For disk storage conscious users, an alternative method is to replace the older tiles with the patched versions. This should not create any problems; however, if you are seeding, please the special note below Special note to seeders: If you are seeding your FreeMeshX installation directly, please do not overwrite the old tiles with the corrected versions. The torrent will not like that, and will reject your seed. Add the patch files into their own library entry, e.g. FreeMeshX - Patches, and then prioritize it over all FreeMeshX regions.Hypothetical relative scenery library order:1 FreeMeshX - Patches2 FreeMeshX - Africa3 FreeMeshX - Antarctica4 FreeMeshX - Asia5 FreeMeshX - Australia and Oceania6 FreeMeshX - Europe7 FreeMeshX - North America8 FreeMeshX - South and Central AmericaOf course, your real load order will be different, but you must keep the FreeMeshX - Patches library entry above the FreeMeshX regions. I've been frequently asked on where to add these in the scenery library. The answer is: It's up to you. I would keep them before any ORBX regions and after your stock scenery. That's about all the advice we can give you since everyone's library is so different. I'm trying to get MediaFire to remove them, since I've paid to get them removed, but their customer service is crap. May 7, 201511 yr Thank you so much. Addon of the year right here, and the best and fastest support I've ever seen. Are you Bill Gates?? Or an angel?
May 7, 201511 yr Patch downloaded, installed and seeding. Agree with the above, your support is commendable; the least we can do is keep the torrents alive, and post the odd screenie of wonky terrain if we find some. - Jens Peter "Penz" Pedersen
May 7, 201511 yr yep thats how the lake looked in mine, might be tempted to get vector now thanks so much, even with odd things like this the rest looks so much better anyway !! May 8, 201511 yr Author Thank you so much. Addon of the year right here, and the best and fastest support I've ever seen. Are you Bill Gates?? Or an angel? I'd rather be Bill Gates. I don't know how much money Angels make a year! Glad FreeMeshX is working out for you. Daniel Moser
May 8, 201511 yr Flew around the Olympic Mountains, WA. Beautiflul detailed topography. Thanks Daniel. Mario Bergeron
May 8, 201511 yr Been meaning to say this but too busy downloading... Thanks, Daniel, great job and even more thanks for making it free.
May 8, 201511 yr The torrent seed has stopped working for me - "DTH: Waiting to login", on two different computers with very different builds? I've got Europe and N.America fine already but no more. Presumably this isn't a server problem as no other posts....googling suggest firewall or A/V issues. And the direct downloads seem to fire up a load of pop-ups, defeating my pop-up blocker :-( And preventing me replying to the mediafire captcha! One pop-up locked Chrome insisting I ring "Tech support" to fix my Windows.....quick reboot, just in case. Am I the only one with this? Will try the torrent from a different IP (maybe Sky have started blocking torrents?) One problem with the Europe mesh - seems to conflict with ESI scenery, especially Alderney. I had the Europe mesh first in the CFG, so that ESI overrode it, which should be correct? But otherwise excellent, many thanks to the creators :-) Cheers Keith ...

I see tens of seeders seeing at the moment for all torrents. Daniel Moser
May 8, 201511 yr Are the base downloads also patched to 1.02? I'd rather waste the bandwidth on redownloads than waste precious SSD space on patches. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
