June 9, 201510 yr For those who have wanted a weather radar in place of the WX500 that doesn't work in FSX:SE or P3D, there is a choice, only if you use Active Sky Next! Using the Weather Radar VC/Pop-Up gauge by Roland Herblot, we have a functional radar in the Moo! You may download the gauge here: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxgau&DLID=189664 And add this in place of your WX500 entry in the VCockpit section of the panel CFG you fly with Don't forget to change XX to the number of your WX500 Vcockpit entry! [VcockpitXX] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=512,512 visible=1 pixel_size=512,512 texture=$RDR150 gauge00=RolasnRadar!ORadGauge, 82,48,350,251,sweep|beam|icing Here is a simple picture showing the "hidden" click spots and what they do... June 10, 201510 yr I Don't Have ASN but Thank you for a nice addition , I'm sure that people with ASN will enjoy your Mod. Marty Baclawski
July 10, 201510 yr There´s one thing I dont understand here. I have ASN and the MU-2 but I dont have the Realityxp gauge. Will this radar addon work for me? The only radar entry that I can fing in the panelcfg is like this [VCockpit34] size_mm=512,512 pixel_size=512,512 texture=$RDR150 background_color=0,0,0 gauge00=rxpWX500!RDR,0,0,512,380 gauge01=CONTROL_PANEL!clipboard RADAR, 90,50,330,250 should I just change that what is in the original post. It would then be: [Vcockpit34] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=512,512 visible=1 pixel_size=512,512 texture=$RDR150 gauge00=RolasnRadar!ORadGauge, 82,48,350,251,sweep|beam|icing Also. At this moment I dont hacve ASN radar gauge installed. Does it matter? Sorry if my questions are dum, but I´m a bit confused with this one.
July 10, 201510 yr Will this radar addon work for me? It absolutely will. You don't need the rxp guage, just Rolands radar (free), and ASN. The cfg entry it the the last one in the rdr/gtn panel folder, way down at the bottom of cfg file. Looks like you found the right one. Also. At this moment I dont hacve ASN radar gauge installed. Does it matter? You don't need the ASN radar installed either. <p>Dassault Falcon, Lear, Embraer and Challenger and Cessna Mechanic.Broadcasting live from former Soviet Missile Silo.Rhys Legge
July 10, 201510 yr Well, me again I have the Gauge in the FSX-SE/gauges folder I have added the entry in the panel.main cfg. as per above. I have even read the gauge manual. I have trusted the software in FSX-se. I have clickspots on the radar screen!!, I have ASN running and connected BUT I only have a Black screen. It looks like it should be turned on. (yes, I have avionics on ) Any suggestions?
July 10, 201510 yr - Did you install VC2013 C++ x86 libraries? I5 9600k@ 4.8ghz rx580 limping-along 2x 23" 1080P Monitors
July 11, 201510 yr nope.... I forgot that. Its true, the manual says so. Will check and come back. I read the manuals of most addons and then I forget what they say.....
July 11, 201510 yr I too have this radar in my MU. I don't own the RXP package so this one caught my eye a while back in a different thread. It works great and adds that missing element from the stock MU. But I usually choose where to fly based on where the bad weather is. Oh, and it works in both FSX:SE and P3D. July 11, 201510 yr Nope. That wasnt the issue. I had the libraries installed. I Downloaded and installed them again and everything stays the same: Clickspots on a black screen. Can this be an FSX-SE issue?
July 11, 201510 yr Commercial Member I love seeing stuff like this! I'll make this thread a sticky for those who use ASN but don't have the WX500. Thanks for the hard work! Joe - Chief Pilot & Lead Tester - Flysimware Simulation Software Captain - Gulfstream IV-SP ATP/CFI/AGI/EMB-505/LR-JET/G-IV
July 11, 201510 yr The aircraft page on the Flysimware website now has a download with instructions for installing Roland's radar and as well as the Captain Sim weather radar. Mike
