September 15, 201510 yr So, I just bought X-Plane(downloading it now). I couldn't hold out any longer. I watched too many YouTube videos and couldn't stand it any more. I'm going to buy the Jar Design A320 as my first purchase for it. I see that SimMarket has it for sale currently. I assume this is the same version and I can update this to latest just as easy as if I bought it directly from Jar Design? I'm sure it is but just curious if anyone knows for sure and/or had any issues related to getting latest versions for it if you don't buy straight from the developer. After that, off to get some World2Xplane scenery, HDMesh and Real Terra Haze plugin. Excited to learn and experience this new sim. And, no more thinking of OOM. That will be new too!! September 15, 201510 yr Welcome to X-plane. I think you will find this a very helpfull community if you have any issues or questions. Rob

September 16, 201510 yr I also found lots of good stuff on the internet for it. And I believe the 777 is on sale for the next few hours as well. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
September 16, 201510 yr Welcome! XP10 is, again, my preferred sim (hey, no one around here pays any attention to when I say such a thing any longer.... (*) ) It was when I adhered to it's beauty sometime ago, but then I got mad at some issues, most of which have actually been addressed by the dev team. My return was also due to the fact that by far XP10 offers the best available option as a scenery generator for yet another love I have - Aerowinx PSX... Might I suggest that you skip the A320 and buy the JarDesign A330 ? From the videos it looks more refined, and very beautiful indeed. Just 2 weeks before buying the download version of XP10 ( I had bought the DVD version before, 2 yrs ago... but offered it to a great friend of mine, who infected me with the virus of teh Combat flightsims starting with DCS World... ) I had bought also P3Dv2, and installed and really appreciated 2.5. From P3D 2.5 there is certainly no way back to any version of FSX, at least for me, but.... from XP10 as it now is, and with the future it offers, there is also no way back for P3D.... so.... I'll try to invest my time in this sim, implementing some ideas for fine tuning aircraft flight dynamics, which is actually my preferred theme on any flight simulator, since fs2 :-) I recommend a very recent thread where Murmur and other suggest great alternatives for tuning the skies without spending any money: http://www.avsim.com/topic/474526-deciding-to-move-from-fsx/?p=3294310 (*) BTW: Just changed my mind.... :-) Edited September 16, 201510 yr by Jim Young Links removed. September 16, 201510 yr For JARdesign 320 updates i use the below link. Cheers! http://airbus320neo.com/updates/ Also use the jardesign forum on his homepage, there is currently the 2.5b1 update, This improves the FBW even more from the already vastly superior 2.4 update. At this point continuing flying the A320 with the 2.3 is close to torture
September 16, 201510 yr The Flight Factor 757 is also superior to the FF 777 imho. If you insist on getting the JARDesign A320 then ensure it's bang up to date with the latest beta or it'll have you throwing the sim and your new planes out the window, I wouldn't bother with it at all though. I'll take this opportunity now as well to say the Carenado offerings for X-Plane are *FAR* superior to the FSX/P3D offerings so don't poopoo them as a viable GA aircraft vendor.

September 16, 201510 yr I'll use both X-Plane & FSX for the foreseeable future. At this point in time, it will never be a case of ...... of never looking back. Neither sim, has all that I want, all that I've seen. To delete either, would be giving up something, and I don't need to.
