October 29, 20169 yr Wait it out. Some people don't have a problem with 3.4.9 and some of us are crying in our beer daily. If you switch you do so at your own risk of OOM hell. There are many more factors that go into a OOM crash than just 1024 textures. I leave mine on 1024 textures too but still OOM if I fly with Autogen/Landclass on anything higher than Normal with a PMDG 737 flight and LOD factor of 4.5. If I flew a tiny little Beechcraft, Twin Otter or most any other GA aircraft I could fly all day, every day on these settings without fear. Big Tin just seems to eat VAS lunch. I fully realize it's more than just 1024 textures. But it context of what's being discussed in terms of hd graphics products it's primarily related to that. As for "big tin" i have used Q400, Pmdg 737, js41, aerosoft 320 etc with autogen on dense and using orbx scenery and still I haven't seen an OOM. I do not run any airport vehicles or cars on roads etc. Perhaps that's why I don't see them. October 29, 20169 yr Myself included. And I mix my Zinertek with REX runway textures so I already have defaults upgraded. It appears you can't add new clutter and detail to default and once you pick a style it gets applied to all default, so that is not good. Heck I use Instant Scenery 3 and beef up airports I want to fly into and I'm all set. Perhaps it is like other products but this looks like it has some great enhancements/textures/features. Similar products are good. Look at how many different developers of the 737 and 777 out there in our community. This product looks great! October 29, 20169 yr Author the Question was asked, I want to decorate Tucson Airport, how do I go about doing that... or something similar. But the answer was not clear. I'd like a product where I pick 1 airport and do that up by picking the building and textures option for that single airport. Not pick 1 or 2 building textures (out of 100s of options) that go into 1000 airports (selection is a group of airports, not a single airport). There are airports where addon vendors ignore (due to unavailability of textures and access to airports). Could we pick these airports ourselves and do it up..one airport at a time? Select the tower? the buildings, textures for it, runway textures (just for that single runway) and taxiway textures... This way we can decorate 100 "default" airports that has consumed all the textures and buildings provided by REX? Edited:I think the answer is, we cannot decorate airport by airport. We have to select a type of object and paint it across the multiple airports of that category and category of objects. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
October 29, 20169 yr Well I have had a look at the screen shots and the quality looks excellent; cant wait to buy this addition

Hince why the default airports look so bad now. Eventually, we will look into integrating some of the tech we are working on with Environment Force in swapping textures in real - time. But issue with that is that with clouds it is maybe a total of about 10 to 12 textures. With Airports you are looking at 100's of textures. October 29, 20169 yr Moderator Looks very interesting. I have two major questions though - given that I am NOT a scenery expert of any kind, my problem is that every time I add a new scenery type product, I wind up flying into an airport sunken into the ground or on top of a mesa or with trees growing in the taxiways, etc. Will this product protect the user from messing up his existing scenery? And, assuming that I have messed something up - how easy is it to correct w/o restoring from a backup. Overall though it looks like a very interesting idea. October 29, 20169 yr I have the Zinertek product as well, but this looks even better. The one question I have is if the REX Hd airport textures overwrite some of the autogen building textures that are shared. This is especially apparent with the night textures of Zinertek showing up on some of the autogen buildings.

This will not affect this at all. It is really just replacing the textures of the default airports already there. No models are being changed or replaced - EXCEPT the about (CORRECTION) 9 of the key ground vehicles. Those are actually greatly improved. We are already working on 5 new models for the update to WWA. I have the Zinertek product as well, but this looks even better. This is especially apparent with the night textures of Zinertek showing up on some of the autogen buildings. First, thank you for your kind words. To answer your question: the only thing this touches is the airport buildings. We are not touching any buildings outside of the airports at the moment. October 29, 20169 yr I have no doubt about the quality of the textures per se.But i woudn't spend more than 10 euros on such addon, and i won't probably buy it either. It has multiple reasons:1) I want to fly and i don't spend much time on the ground, but when i do, i am busy with the plane itself and not looking around much 2) i feel like the amount of texture sets will inflate the price (since surely it increased the work load for them) but it won't increase my satisfaction. Only way would be to continuously change the texture set which is boring, plus it's not like you will find different big airports with different texture sets. As far as i understood it all big terminals will have the same kind of texture you selected, am i right? Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."
