CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN!

That's true, but anyway MLB is mainly based in the US. Only one Canadian team out of 36.

True, but there have been discussions about possibly extending into London...

All good. I was born and raised in Toronto and I grew up watching the Jays. Was there when they won the World Series back to back and I look forward to their next World Series title, which I predict within the next three years the way things are developing

Some of my fondest memories growing up are at those baseball games

Totally agree!, 'cause the next three years will be for my Cubbies!!!, LOL.

All good.

I'm devastated...the entire basis for my world view has been shattered.  There have always been three irrefutable truths to depend on in this world: that the sun will rise again tomorrow, a mother's love for her children, and that the Cubs would always find a way to lose.

I don't know how I will go on...

I think it all started when they put lights in Wrigley Field!

Even if you teach certain people and explain this as good as you do, they simply will not learn anything, because they have that negative attitude. This thread is about base-ball and the best base-ball game of the world is played in the Major Leagues in the US, you like it or not.

Cheers, Ed.

Yes, that's why the US is the biggest winner of the world cups, and, oh no wait...

I'm with you. I tend to think some people must do a big research just to learn to live and live to learn.

Cheers, Ed

Might wanna include yourself in that list there, Ed...

The World Baseball Classic will be held once again in 2017 (this time in Los Angeles) and will feature top professional players from 16 counties. All the players from the U.S. in the past have been form MLB and most of the Canadians were also. The series started in 2006 and Japan leads with 2 wins and 1 third, followed by the Dominican Republic, South Korea, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. It will be interesting to see what happens next year.

Not only that, but those records are only for the "new" competition started in 2006, but this is only after it merged/fused.

The baseball world cup goes way back to 1938...

Totally agree!, 'cause the next three years will be for my Cubbies!!!, LOL.

All good.

Threepeat for the Cubbies eh, we'll see about that

I would love to see a Toronto vs Cubbies in the world series. It was too bad Cleveland knocked us out.

Yes, it would be very possible next year. The Blue Jays did very well in this postseason.

You gotta love how americans call "world" champions to the winner of a tournament played only in and by their country...

,,,,,And Canada. ;)

Bill Alderson

Yes I find the "world champions" thing annoying as well.  The NFL (which I love) does so as well.

Maybe it refers to the "MLB" and "NFL"  "worlds"...?

,,,,,And Canada. ;)

True.. those birds are still flapping around as the last of their kind.. :D

Still they have a place in my heart since I'm a fan. I remember back when I was a kid this ice cream place that had cups in the shape of baseball hats, andI had a Jays one and, wait for it...an Expos one! :)

Impressive Victory Parade. 5 Million People gathered at what is estimated to be the 7 largest gathering in the history of the world. People will be talking about this for decades

New Zealand's All Blacks who are two times world champions had a game in Soldier Field at the same time and I don't think anyone cared

Raven,

If there's an MLB Ballpark that serves Ice Cream, you can rest assured they serve it up in a Replica Ballcap cup!

Save that Expos cup... it's bound to be worth something!

Must be something about Chicago right now because New Zealand All Blacks just played Ireland at Soldier Field in Chicago and Ireland beat the All Blacks in a First Test Win for the first time in over a century, another century in the making in one weekend.

This match was meant to bring Rugby to America to help build the sport but I don't think it worked this time due to the Cubs win. Bad timing for Rugby. But the All Blacks were seen playing Baseball yesterday on Michigan Avenue which is pretty cool to be caught up in the moment and be apart of Baseball History
