Aerosoft CRJ 1.0.5.0 is out

Recommended Posts

I would not blame everything on the betatesters. I tested the CRJ before the initial release and never had ILS problems. I must say I also only flew in Europe. Somehow most LNAV and ILS probs are in the US.

If people really want to help Hans make the CRJ bugfree then report the problems in the AS forums. And make sure to post routings and screenshots of the problems.

Believe it or not but some of the problems are just user error because some never read the manual and think the CRJ is like an Airbus or Boeing. That being said, some problems are definitely bugs.

I am not a tester of the CRJ anymore so I can not speak for V1.0.5.

Just tried another flight and the plane is totally un-flyable. ILS does not work whatsoever. Established into Birmingham Runway 15. Dense fog, and it just pitched me straight up into the air. Totally broken and just wasted a flight in from Geneva. Seriously this product is an absolute joke right now!

Did you switch nav source to VOR1/LOC1 before app?

im having no issue with LNAV or ILS so far.

In fact, some of the lnav issues on the aerosoft forum that include pictures ....well let’s just say whoever came up with the atc routing needs a serious talking to. :)

If all these folks are doing it wrong than how about Aerosoft, the developer or one of the tester do a short flight on twitch or YouTube and show us once and for all how it should properly be done. I know the Maddog team does this which helps a lot. It’s not asking much and it will put this issue to rest.

Some of the issues relating to ILS glideslope malfunctions may be related to P3DV4.2. For those who use it, it is very important to have the very latest version of FSUIPC, 5.124. Earlier versions can cause major performance hits due to a change that LM made in simconnect.

I mention that because at least one person who lost glideslope and had the aircraft plunge to the ground, reported a major drop in FPS just before it happened.

The problem with aircraft suddenly “snapping” into a turn at a waypoint is something I have seen in the CRJ, the new Maddog X, and the PMDG NGX, and appears to be a new issue definitely introduced in P3D 4.2

I have flown 10 flights with 1.0.0.5, and have had absolutely no LNAV or ILS problems whatsoever, even with very high crosswinds.

It's sound like P3DV4.2 is not what is was made out to be. Dev's keep insisting we update to 4.2 but problems are made worse by doing so. It's no wonder so many are hesitant to upgrade from 4.1. Since 4.2 was released it has caused issues with the many of add-ons. Maybe the CRJ should have been 4.1 and 4.2 compatible. Yes, I know 4.2 has many new fixes but it sure has caused a lot of problems to the fact developers are pointing to 4.2 for the majority of the problems reported.

After reading the posts from Glenn and Jim, I'm going to retract my earlier post (apologies to beta testers if someone was offended).  It sounds like it's more of an issue with P3D 4.2 and/or customers not being fully informed of the Nav sources and their implementation.

Thanks Jim, and @GHarrall

It's very confusing and misleading to get totally contrasting reports when your trying to read reports and foruming a judgment to if the CRJ is now a "buy" aircraft.

Franky I have no idea now!

I good youtube video would be great to watch made by someone that knows the crj and can show good or bad how it really is.

Having use 4.2 from day 2 of release I've never had any snapping with the NG FSL A320 or the MadDog.

Indeed. Poor arimenship does not equate to a poor plane.

I had high hopes that this version would see this aircraft on a footing of being a nice plane to own.

Your reports above make me wonder, who on earth is beta testing this aircraft? and what on earth is going on?

I have beta tested this aircraft and actually flew the one reported issue with the DTW 21L approach at least three times (albeit in our SSJ DTW addon) and never did it pitch down like reported. The developer has already sought our inputs on why this is happening because no one had this issue. There is a possibility of AS4 causing extreme turbulence effect or a new P3DV4.2 induced change. In fact the new 4.2 is also causing me issues in various addons including the new KBOS where I am unable to load that scenery without a CTD. Never happened before. So let's see what comes out of this. The users who say it is completely unflyable...well not sure what is going on there as there are so many things which we have fixed now through beta testing...let us try and figure out why this ILS thing is occurring and provide a solution. \

By the way, just to check, there is no autoland in this so make sure A/P is turned off in time before touchdown.

This is why it can be annoying when an updated addon is restricted to the single latest point release of P3D. Some people do not like to update every time, because they are afraid that updating will cause them more problems than it was worth. Yes, I know that updated features are part of the development process, but if an addon is designed to work with P3D v4, then it should (IMO) be capable of working with ALL point versions of v4. In fact, this is why I haven't even upgraded to v4 at all so far. Everything that I currently use works just fine with v3.4, so I have no intention of shooting myself in the foot simply because there is a newer version available. I use exactly the same philosophy with graphics drivers, which is one of the reasons why I still use Windows 7

For what is worth, I've flown two flights w/o issues.  Amazed at this mob mentality instigated by those that quickly conclude, judge, and attack.

Did a flight in the CRJ from KEGE to KDEN today. No problems whatsoever with LNAV or ILS capture/glideslope. Even in very tight turns and with significant crosswind, the CRJ followed the LNAV path nicely. It was a very enjoyable flight. The CRJ is very nice to handfly and performance is very good.

Now that's great info from a great guy. Thanks Carlo.

Carlo what FPS do you get compared with the normal aircraft we always compare with?
