Doesn't LM give release dates/patch note in advance of launching an update? Or it is a case, that LM just release an update and tell everyone about it the same day? Just curious as I'm looking to buy a few new addons Friday but don't want to go buying them if the new update hasn't been released.

There are certain feature developers that have these notifications, but you should be aware that not all 3rd party developers have access to P3D pre-releases and therefore like me we have to wait until these are available, test our add-on's quickly and fix any issues as soon as posible after the release has been made public.

Most of us are waiting like you, and we will jump to fix any issues withing a couple of days of the release. Normally after 1 week everything has been patched if necessary.

Keep an eye on my forums, I always keep a good report with the status of the most commonly used add-on's after each release.

Regards,
S.

I am just waiting for the news so I can let my BETA team know that they have to go and run to test AI Lights Freeware edition with 4.3 to catch any problems, so I can fix them and make them available also for the Beta version of the Profesional edition that they will start using very soon

Lucky beta team.  When I grow up one day, I want to be one of those people.

Same

I’m hoping they at least address the dynamic lighting and autogen. Autogen has not been the same since 4.0.

I just want to see performance.  We all have insane hardware and the software just does not leverage the hw properly.  Extremely inefficient (all b/c of backward compatibility).  But I want to keep my comments focused only on 4.3.  Looking forward to the imminent release.

BTW people - save your 4.2 full installer if you have it.  Later only client installer is available.  I try to keep the full release for few months, till everything is stable and then stick to the latest version as backup

Don't count on anything. If (if!) there are any performance improvements they probably will result in 1 or 2 fps's extra... The following isn't in reply to your post but it seems a lot of people seem to expect 4.3 (or any update) to bring fps in P3D from 25 to 50 or something like that, which obviously is unrealistic. Going from 25 to 30 is unrealistic already and who really notices an upgrade that gives us 27 instead of 25...? I mainly update P3D to stay up to date and compatible with the newest versions of addon. (This time I will install 4.3 because I had to reinstall my PC a while ago and I didn't want to reinstall 4.2 when 4.3 is coming.) I can't remember installing a point release because of a new features (apart from the cloud shadows a few years ago).

I have a feeling this will be mainly minor bug fixes and probably expanded scenario and VR capabilities. They are slowly polishing the platform but at some point, that old engine will need to be seriously rewritten. The real question is whether or not they want to put the resources into a total rewrite or concentrate on using the existing engine and improving the VR capabilities.

Should be a interesting trip......

Someone way up in the thread predicted the 26th - that's my pick also.
