You must be a new here :).

To give you a proper answer, PMDG don't provide release dates.  When it is ready, you'll know.  I believe it has not finished beta testing yet, that's all the information you will get.  You just have to be patient, enjoy other PMDG aircraft in the mean time.

Don't listen to him, he's a fun hater.

It comes out tomorrow. Come back and refresh this comment tomorrow and you'll see I'm right. 😉

Keep the blue part on top...

I remember waiting for the PMDG MD-11 to come out.  It felt like ages.

i heard they were cancelling the 747-8 altogether and developing only Airbus aircraft from now on...

Suits  me haha!

It'll be out approximately 35 seconds after the iFly 747-8 update gets released lol.

Joking aside, it would be easy for PMDG to bang it out without proper beta testing and it would probably be alright, but there is a reason why they have a pretty decent reputation, and it's in no small part because they don't do that sort of thing.

Every time someone asks, it gets pushed back by 24 days.

If that's true, it won't be released in this millennia...

From the sticky post at the top of this forum

so the introduction of what we jokingly started calling “PMDG RainMaker” got moved to the 747-8, which will be in your hands shortly!

Shortly !!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was Jan 28.

So as always dont listen to any post that says “soon” or the new “shortly” it’s all BS and been like it for ever. You just have to wait for a release post.

Sad that we get so many negative posts. I am sure that PMDG are working their buts off to get these developments to us as soon as they are able. They will also want to keep the $ flowing in.

Come on guys. We are soon to be able to enter a whole new world of exciting new facilities.

Cheers, Richard

I understand that. But, to be honest, in my own personal view, it's all about expectations and managing set expectations, which are communicated from the developers.

I know they haven't promised us anything - but to me, the words Soon/shortly means - at least in my view, within a couple of months.
Instead, something like following could be communicated: "Gents, we're working our **ss off, towards getting this to you. But our current estimates is, that there's some work to be done. Please don't expect this, before the end of the year... We'll update you, when we have significant news. Thanks for understanding."

My apologies, PMDG! I don't mean to be critical. You're doing an amazing piece of work and the addons you provide us, is beyond expectations always... The above, is simply my view as to why these threads keep surfacing...

Keep up the good work.

We don't give release dates, so the "please don't expect this" example wouldn't fit within that.

'Soon' is relative.

...and if we have to constantly keep updating you about our informal loose references to the passage of time, not only are we wasting dev time to do so (he says, as he has Global Flight Ops work, sitting idle, up in another window), we're also having to kind of keep track of aforementioned informal loose references, which has an associated administrative burden (there's literally an entire segment of government contracting here, put together to write a bunch of reports about reports, and set up meetings to discuss having other meetings - it's awful, and how I wasted many good years of my life because people create work for no reason, for some reason).

The opposite, of course, would be to just not say anything.

It's in beta, so you all know how relatively close it is. If that's still too fuzzy, then...be patient, I guess?
