One thing I couldn't find in the manuals is how to backup the installation properly – in view of P3D V5, but also in case of a complete Windows reinstall, so that I don't have to redownload aircraft and repaints that I already have. As advised, I have installed the OCI outside the P3D main directory, in C:\Program Files\AIGAIM - OCI. Can I just save the entire folder to my external hard disk and then simply add it back to P3D later on? What should I take care of? Thanks a lot again! PS: Are there any compatibility issues to be expected with P3D V5? As long as the paths are not changing you can copy the whole OCI directory. Yes we are aware of current errors in v5 and will start fixing them as soon as we get a copy of v5.

April 13, 20206 yr Excellent. Do I then just have to add the entry to the add-ons.cfg in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 again? Or the one in scenery_add-ons.cfg as well? Thanks 🙂

My only leftovers are the AIG Manager Folder and the AIFAM - OCI folder which I installed previously outside teh root P3D folder. Alle files in these folders are untouched. In the "AIGAM - OCI/OCI-Configuration" folder I corrected the paths in the add-on xml with notepad++ as I renamed my new "P3D Sim Addons" folder from ."..../P3D Addons" to "..../P3D Sim Addons" So only a "name" small correction in the paths-names within the add-on xml file. What do I have to do after I installed P3D V5 from scratch? Do I have to create a further XML File to pint to AIGAM? Or how does P3D find the add-on xml file within AIGAM - OCI/OCI-Configuration folder? Or did I make a mistake....and have to reinstall the AIGAM from scratch.....which I hope not. April 13, 20206 yr Author Do you still have a running v4 version on your system? If yes you should now try to verify that AIM is still working. We are currently making adjustems in AIM for a semi-automatic switch from v4 to v5 for our users. Requirement for this is that OCI is fully working in v4 before doing it.

I do not plan to reinstall P3D V4 as I prefer a clean setup without any possible conflicts. My biggest point is, that installing AIGAM was a lot of work as I cannot multiplechoice flightplans within, which I than want to install via 1-click using the OCI installation method (only freeware flightplans and models). Because choosing every single flightplan and than click 3 times per flightplan to install is quit a hazzle. Am I doing it correct? Or is there a way tu mutliselect "all" plans and then install "all files needed" in one run? Regards, Marcus P.

April 13, 20206 yr Not a big AI Traffic user due to flying online and also because of performance. I use MT6/Traffic3DSounds in combo with LiveTraffic,FSUIPC controlling the max amount . With v5 around soon should i move to AIG? Can I still choose to only have dep/arrivial traffic and amount? Thanks Michael Moe Michael Moe

AIG is the best there is, highly recommended. No way to automate departure/arrival traffic only that I know of, but you could just turn the sliders down to 0 once airborne if you want. Thanks but Live Traffic does it right now and using MT6 for models. Maybe its the same just with AIG models? Michael Moe
April 13, 20206 yr You'll be blown away moving from MyT6 models. Contrary to popular belief, there's no performance gain using the old models. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
April 13, 20206 yr I just completed the move from a legacy commercial traffic program over to AIM....I am seeing a noticeable improvement not only in the visuals, but also in performance overall. P3D45. rgds, JB 9800x3d, ASUS TUF x870, 64GB G.Skill DDR5, MSI Ventus 4080, HP Reverb G2 VR, FlyVirtual.net, Private Pilot SEL rating, subLogic FlightSim 1983 & every release since
April 13, 20206 yr Well I bit the bullet, installed the AIM and downloaded all the airlines. Seems to be working okay in-game, but bizarrely some 20 or 30 aircraft are reporting NO PAINT. Have redownloaded the affected airlines but the errors stay. Apart from that it's working nicely anyway so far, well done AIG!
