My apologies to ganter and TechguyMaxC who turned out to be rightfully critical of my skepticism on p64 here whether this new sim was a true sim with flight controls. I just view this Flightchannel.com video of a Microsoft Simulator 2019 flight from Denver to San Francisco in 4k. I saw switches being flicked on and off. The yoke moving. Instruments working. So my doubts were unjustified. I wish I had seen the video first. Sorry guys. Pass some more of that delicious crow. This is in reference to a YouTube video titled "Flight Simulator 2019 in 4K | Denver to San Francisco | Ultra Realism" It is a confusing video but not click bat, as I thought so too at first but if you look at his videos, he has been using titles like that for videos even in 2018. He even uses the same title like " New Flight Simulator 2018 4K, but it just means a NEW video for his channel. Unless he went back and renamed every video 🙂 I think not! But like I said it is confusing since the release of the NEW MFS trailer 🙂 Edited June 17, 20196 yr by Learjet777 "Coffee, if your not shaking, you need another cup" Flight Sim Break Discord Channel: https://discord.com/invite/fCV62Ka2QZ

I've flown assignments in the FSEconomy game in parts of the world where there are airports to takeoff and land from, but I'm fairly positive there is either no available satellite/GIS data at all, or it's not of sufficient resolution to match what's available in the USA and Europe/UK. Even a developed country like Canada can be tough to model with user-made ortho scenery in the more remote areas (Canada is a very big place). I'll bet it's not easy to get good satellite orthos for many parts of China either. But I still want to fly in those parts of the world, and I'm sure I'm not alone. There has to be something shown on the ground, even if it doesn't match what that sexy trailer looks like. One choice they have would be to reposition the airports where they should be so they match the relief ! I fly everywhere in the world with OrbX Global, Vector, a good mesh, OpenLCs or some other LCs I found . Almost every single airport is misplaced with frustrating results ( roads and rivers crossing the runways, etc). For instance, yesterday I flew into Nicoya, Costa Rica to find that the airport cuts a hill in half because it is half a mile too much to the south. I am a little tired to do it myself with ADE. Besides that, I am curious to know what the new sim will make with Japan. OrbX has consistently showed that they were not interested by Asia in general and Japan in particular. "I sincerely hope this does not mean that the majority of the planet will be covered with similar rubbish looking landclass textures and autogen that we see in default FSX and P3D" In other words, I am quite prepared to accept that landclass textures and autogen will need to be displayed in certain areas of the world. I just don't want it to be the same garbage that has been peddled for the past 20 years. It needs to be a totally new system with textures that are much more realistic and appealing to the eye. We've already seen autogen populated, more rural areas in play in the trailer and I think you will get your wish. The shots of Kenya for example or the Bahamas. Those were pure autogen. June 17, 20196 yr Just spotted (excuse the pun) a deal-killer for me. The giraffes' spots are identical on all five of them. That's it. I'm out. Back to Flight Simulator v4.0

I’m getting younger! Out of the box there is clearly going to be more content for those with froogle spending habits. IF there is an SDK it will provide DLC to those wanting more in their FS adventures. PC version will release first with XBOX version soon to follow. Its my hope MSFS 2020 will be a win win for everyone, end users, Microsoft, and DLC providers. Cheers, Rob There's like one guy saying "I want everything in the default sim". Most of us are not saying that we don't want to, or will not buy add-ons, nor bashing the FS add-on industry at large. We are only saying "finally we can have high-quality scenery and weather without having to spend an arm and a leg or wait forever".
June 18, 20196 yr So, when would be the optimum time for Microsoft to release their next bit of news about the new sim? Does anyone remember the schedule they used with Flight? A week after the trailer I feel like we've wrung pretty much everything we could out of it. Right now I'm more excited by what we *might* get with a P3Dv5 than from the new MSFS/FSXX/FSXXXX/FSMMXX/whatever, and I know absolutely nothing about what it might be or when it might happen. It's not like I already uninstalled all my flight sim stuff to make room for a new sim from Microsoft, and I have definite plans to buy a couple more planes when they become available for P3Dv4. My last two flights were Natal to Ascension Island to Monrovia over water and above a cloud cover which couldn't be improved much by MSFS. This in the study level A2A Constellation which I doubt will be equaled by whatever is available on release (I hope I'm wrong). I'm still cautiously optimistic though. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! June 18, 20196 yr Something will probably leak out in the next 2-3 weeks. I think as soon as they fill that community manager position, we should see more interaction. As with any game that will include early access, they've got to keep the hype train rolling. If they go dark for 6 months, no one will buy into the project anymore. We might not get another trailer for a long while, but they've got to get some more information out there via interviews or stuff on the new site. Edited June 18, 20196 yr by bonchie
June 18, 20196 yr Is anyone actually happy about the announcement that a another sim is coming? And are willing to judge it good or bad when it is actually released and make a decision at that time? And also are we forced to buy this new Microsoft Flight Simulator? Are your current flight simulators and the million of dollars of add on's you have going to go away some how? Before the announcement what was your plan? I am guessing it was, I'll play, excuse me, use, run, the flight simulators I enjoy. And I'll post in the appropriate area to talk to community members that use the same simulators as me, and I'll help the community and the community will help me enjoy my game, oh oh, I mean flight simulator 🙂 We have an Official Items in NEW Flight Simulator thread according to what can be confirmed. Can we at least have a FUN thread that we can list, what we would like to see. Maybe, just maybe the NEW Microsoft Flight Simulator Community Manager when they are hired will at least look at it and beg their bosses for one item on the Wish List 🙂 Can we also go ahead and blast the NEW flight simulator that MIGHT get announced in 2030, 2040, 2050... 🙂 Personally I am angry about it 🙂 "Coffee, if your not shaking, you need another cup" Flight Sim Break Discord Channel: https://discord.com/invite/fCV62Ka2QZ

Hook You can tell we wrung out as much as we could since this particular topic has been stuck on page 69 for over 24 hours 😂 I think people have finally gotten to the point of repeating and reading the same opinions over and over that it’s slowed down not that the oringal shock and awe factor of the announcement has passed and it’s been a week and a day since we learned of it. Like you, I’m excited to get the next drop of new info for us to talk about. The main thing of concern for me is when we find out about the SDK, whether they’ll be one or not and what the terms are for developers, as in open market, as is the case now, or if they will be bound to an agreement with MS via some type of revenue sharing/commission to sell though a set market place. June 18, 20196 yr Moderator I'm convinced Microsoft will treat this new sim as a cash cow. Think about Office. Can you buy it outright any longer? No, you can't. Subscription only. I'm sure the same will apply to this new sim. Subscription only so they are guaranteed an income for as long as you use it. I also think you won't download and install it as you've done with all previous versions. Streaming only because of the astronomical amount of data available. Maybe local caching means you can save those areas you fly over to save downloading again. Just a guess. This isn't Bill Gates' Microsoft. He loved flight sim. The new management is looking at how well L-M have done with P3D and they want a piece of the action. So they throw their enormous resources into it and produce a sim that on the surface looks tremendous. But beware of the emperor's new clothes. There will be a price to pay. And remember Microsoft ditched flight sim 12 years ago. Remember how you felt when that news arrived. And then think how you felt when you heard L-M had bought the rights to ESP and were developing a new sim. They have done a great job and I'm not about to dump them for the new boy in town especially when so little is known about FS2020. I'll be sticking with what I like and who I trust.
