Maybe it doesn't mean nothing, but The Crew 2 also has flamingos like those in the MFS trailer:

And the high quality garage scenes with real time reflections remind me of the hangar shot in the MFS trailer. Hmmm...

There are no flamingos in the Everglades! Sheesh! Miami FL native here, very experienced in roaming around that area, Those crazy French developers. 🤣

There is (was?) a captive flock at Hialeah race track for years, maybe that's where they got the idea. And that looks more like Big Cypress or the Okefenokee than the "sea of grass" or the mangrove coast. That boat would never work there either, water's too shallow.

It's fun to rag on a game that isn't intended to be a real simulation. On the other hand, I think it's still useful to pay attention to what ASOBO has done in the past. If you go to the "Gallery" section of the web site for The Crew 2, there are some very impressive environmental shots of clouds, lighting, reflections, and so on. They're good at eye candy.

Whether there is anything more to the upcoming MFS than eye candy is something we're all expecting with the iconic title, and waiting to find out.

Actually, the good news is last year ornithologists counted a record 147 flamingos in the Everglades area of Central Florida, in the 1800 there were thousands of flamingos in areas of Florida,  but humans reduced their population and now they are finally coming back.

Cool info, thanks! I haven't lived there for the last 20 years but I grew up there, so that's news to me. It's a wonder the newly invasive anacondas haven't eaten all the Flamingo chicks.

Maybe that's why there are "only" 147, and not thousands!!

I see more than a passing resemblance to the trailer.

How has this Asobo rumour got going?

Looking really nice in the new screenshot and the little update is cool of them and sounding very positive. Looks like they may well possibly be thinking of adding a screenshot type cam for those that like that kind of thing, such as a big portion of the OrbX forums etc. Elite Dangerous implemented a very nice customisable cam along these lines.

Remove the hud and you can fool me for the new fs screen. The resemblance is uncanny.

It's from an article in the French newspaper, Le Monde about the E3 show in Los Angeles (where the trailer was released) which said: "In Los Angeles, sixteen projects primarily designed in France were presented or cited in one form or another, some of which have marked the spirits, as the return of the license Microsoft Flight Simulator by Bordeaux ASOBO".

From here (in French):https://www.lemonde.fr/pixels/article/2019/06/17/ce-que-les-352-jeux-video-evoques-a-l-e3-2019-disent-de-l-etat-de-l-industrie_5477576_4408996.html

Dont read too much into the ASOBO / The Crew 2 thingy.....The Crew 2 was developed by Ivory Tower and published by UbiSoft, ASOBO only provided assets for the game. Crew2 is based on the DUNIA engine which is owned by Ubi Soft so you can safely assume that this engine wont be used for a Microsoft product....

Apart from that, there's exactly one source (which isnt even a source close to the industry) reporting Asobo's involvement with MSFS, havent read anywhere else about this. And given ASOBO's history, its possible that they will, again, only provide assets for MSFS

Nah these assets aren't as good. You can easily tell when you look at the bridge. Overall it looks good but the level of detail is lower.

Have you seen the registrations on the airplanes in the trailer?

Yep, this is the most likely scenario in my opinion.  They are good at modeling too so I don't see it as a bad thing.

Those aren't flamingos in the pictures.....they're mosquitoes!  At least that's what I remember about Florida when I was there in 1969:blink:

Yes Bert but I assumed that was a nod to Aces Studio.
