Which current data is that?

Estimations of amount of owners, likely based on data of active users. Here's some accurate data, the 24-hour peak of active users is 2.563 for Flight Simulator X and 1.601 for X-Plane 11.

As you can see, Flight Simulator X is far from dead and vastly more popular than X-Plane. And there's Prepar3D too which is heavily based on the former.

You do realize X plane released in 2016 and most simmers by now have gravitated to it. Not FSX.  By now any count of FSX users is Historical, and most would have gone into Control Panel and uninstalled that sucker. Real simmers don't use FSX.

That must be the most stupid post in this thread until now. Congratulations.

Where's your data refuting the other data?

This thread and area of the forum aren’t about fsx/xp/p3d. This discussion is completely off-topic.

Nope.

The fact that FSX still is and will always be a 32bit sim, only proves my point.

In some respects it is far behind X-Plane, in others it is way ahead. Depends on how you look at it, and what your needs are.

The recent posts were talking about popularity though, and in that regard Flight Simulator X is still ahead of X-Plane.

You can always tell an XPlane user, but you can' tell 'em much.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

I am surprised that die hard XPlane users would be here or interested in a Microsoft sim then I remembered from the P3D forums, trolls

And in the x-plane forum they are spreading false information about the new MSFS....

I pray for a Change in History instead of a disaster like FSX back in 2006 or Flight back in 2012.
Hopefully they have learned from all the mistakes they have done in the past.

I lot of poeple have put a lot of love into FSX over the years to make and support only for you to say it was a disaster?

Microsoft Flight was pretty well made, with specific focus and target audiance. I think Microsoft didn't set the right expectation or we miss-understood probably because people were so desperate for a flag bearer in aviation simulation to appear but like a pack of starving hyenas we blindly ripped it apart before it could become something better..

I don't know what change in history you are talking about, issues on launch, sales? It will take time for the community to find there feat with a new product but thats the cost of progress and given what we've seen so far and what the Microsoft Flight Simulator brand name means, I think we'll be more than fine.

Come on fellows. Back on topic please. This isn't the FSX vs. Xplane forum or topic .

Thank you.
