The assets look nothing alike. The only similarities are those that exist because they're based on the same airport. There are many differences in the modeling and texturing, and a lot of the clutter objects are completely different. If it is the Orbx version, they've rebuilt it completely from scratch.

I think the main point here is the level of customisation which I was alluding to coming from a third party developer, as you've stated...

Doesn't it seem strange that they've gone to that effort for an airport unless of course it was a third party developer contribution and they want to test the water...

So if I built a flight sim and one of the new features was sloped runways, I would take Courchevel to show case it. That’s why I would also spend effort on making it look pretty. Makes all sense to me...

Lots of exciting things ahead, some much closer than you think.

Another surprise?

I think it's related to the XO19 event next week in London as the simulator will be available for public testing there, I imagine we will have a large flow of information by then.

Mainly this. Maybe a new trailer, maybe a release date, surely new info. At least that's what I understand.

So next stop at 18.11. 😅

With Lukla in Nepal, Courchevel is iconic of a sloped runway altiport. It makes a lot of sense to have it perfectly made as a window dressing asset.

Also I don’t think that because it looks like Courchevel it must be ORBX. It’s because it’s Courchevel.

or MAYBE the announcement of PMDG and MSFS or both😄

That's a glad notice by some on the community, but I doubt that Xbox fans want to hear about PMDG. Probably they will show something more "commercial".

They aren't going to announce third parties for MSFS at something like XO19, lol.  The entire crowd will look at each other and go "what's a PMDG?" if they announce PMDG is supporting MSFS.

If they do anything but have the game on the floor at XO19, it'll either be a new trailer, or some new footage and maybe a brief interview with Asobo - gotta turn Lionel into the celebrity superstar he deserves to be. 🙂

They'll save the news of interest to actual simmers for their own updates.

Or they will start to sell hard copies at the event 👅

Since the beginning, Microsoft surprises us, from the trailer to the Global Preview Event, no one seems to see the news coming.

They keep letting us having the impression to be in the loop with their DR but I really like the way they drop  everytime the main news out of nowhere.

I know I expect something from the London event tomorrow but I also know I can't guess what it will be.

I would be happy with a lot of screenshots and videos.

Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

Yes, more screenshots and vids would be greatly appreciated. And here‘s an idea for the time before Christmas: In December, MS could give us a screenshot each day and on Christmas a nice long video; kind of like an Advent calendar.
