What about a ton of the smaller airlines all with schedules modeled but no aircraft actually showing in game due to default “Superhornet” repaints!

Theres so many regional airlines missing its terrible...

there was a post in forum, with Fedex and UPS flights, a long way back. I used them. I'm not inclined to go back to UTL, will happily stick with AIG.

You are right, they should have.  And as said they can be added pretty easily.

Yes,  in many ways UTL1 was/is deficient.  Many of the models were ancient, too.  

However, and I'm speaking as a guy who custom made 100's of AI bgl's in my FSX setup...I don't have time to fiddle like that anymore.  AIG's fire-and-forget installer wasn't available when I bought UTL, so, I'm at least glad they're finally going to come out with the "power pack".

Have you even tried the AIG AI Manager to comment about micromanaging anything? It's a few clicks here and there and the program does the rest for you. Each to his own of course, but a default UTL install is nothing in comparison to what is so easily achieved with AIGAIM for free.

 Even just to try it out, for any UTL user on the fence. Setup AI Manager and install (a couple clicks per airline is all it takes) a couple of the larger available airlines that you most commonly expect to see where you most frequently fly out of. The in UTL disable those airlines and fire up the sim to see the difference. If you don't like it, it's a simple thing to reenable the airlines in UTL and to remove the AI Manager. You can even still keep UTL in for just the GA.

Mate have you actually used the program? It's very little 'micromanaging AI' - I would say less than UTLive - particularly if you actually want to update the models or flight plans occasionally (something I would not call micromanaging).

If we are talking Traffic Global I would agree, but I have found UT to be very light on the resources. I can have crazy amounts of traffic now, where as with global my computer would have slowed to a crawl.

That is because UTL has less traffic due to an embedded FPS tracker. If your FPS are being affected it will automatically reduced the quantity of traffic around.

You can achieve similar results with TG or AIGM by using FSIUPC traffic limiter or reducing the amount of traffic in the P3D settings.

None of this 6 month old AIG schedules or 3 year old Ut2 stuff.. The ai traffic is actually live with about a 5 min delay on it. And imported from re time data. 

I taxied out behind a 6 hour late AOG the other day if was brillant.  If you're an AI purist like my self I can't express enough how good it is.

I'm perfectly content with AIG, even if the plans are old, the live traffic stuff is for straight up AI purists with a lot of time on their hands to manage models and liveries 🙂

With AIG I am constantly surprised with seeing new liveries post updates, which are frequent btw and I don't mind doing them as they're quick to install. I also don't like that live traffic doesn't integrate with Radar Contact, big show stopper for me.

@fluffyflops how does this real traffic handle ground operations and ATC? Or is it simply filling the skies, silent but accurate?

This is the only little thing that makes me hesitate going for a "real" traffic addon based on current ADS-B data. I do not want unrealistic ground operations and honestly, the immersion also suffers if none of the planes on an airport is aware of you and the ATC is not aware of any AI plane.

Currently, there is still no totally perfect AI addon, all have their flaws. As soon as AIG Controller is out and those AIG flights are following routes, SID and STARs, we have a complete AI addon. Until then, everything has its trade-offs.

Nico has done a great job in making follow taxi routes, flaps take off and those little things that we all like about AI. But, there is always a but:) At some airports that have dodgy afcads like Orbx  things go a bit weird.

As for ATC, your only option is Live ATC if the airport has that coverage, Like USA, OZ and some parts of Europe. It is immersive though.

It is... for watchers... But not for being a pilot. Or do you find it immersive, when you sit on a gate for a flight into whatever destination and then you have to taxi to the runway and takeoff completely on your own just because the ATC you use is not aware about AI traffic and vice versa? Not for me, I then prefer not so realistic flights with a not so realistic ATC that at least knows I am there and other AI planes are around. But that is my personal opinion, of course, some might put the focus elsewhere...

I use it with Lorby Live Traffic tool

The aircraft taxi onto to the gates and take off with no issues.  You just have to get lorbis set up correctly.
