November 23, 20196 yr What I don't want is for Microsoft to charge anything for this release. They are such a big company after all. Surely a few thousand niche desktop pilots is a drop in the bucket for them...🙄 #freeMSFS MSI Pro Z690-A DDR4 | i5 13600KF | G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB 3600MHz | RTX 3080 (12GB) | Samsung 980 M.2 NVMe 500GB | Samsung 980 M.2 NVMe 1TB | Samsung 850EVO 500GB | Crucial P3+ 2TB NVMe | 2TB Seagate HDD | Deepcool AK500 CPU Cooler | Thrustmaster T16000M HOTAS | CH Yoke | Various Winctrl hardware | 21:9 1440p UW monitor | Win 11 23H2 build | MSFS2020 | Tony K.
November 23, 20196 yr SpeedyTC, I really don't think a free MSFS2020 is, nor ever will be, on the books, however nice that dream is. Also, regarding aircraft and utilities addons for MSFS, I firmly believe that the biggest potential for 3rd party devs, is going to be in the aircraft line. As for utilities, I see airport development as having a good potential as well. From the looks of the previews, I can not see Active Sky or REX really getting a look in either. It already looks brilliant. However, this is all digressing from the original topic. What I do not want to see is subscription. IF we have to have it, and avoiding the NavData vs Navigraph issues, then I would like to see it at below US5-10 per month which, combined with Navigraph is going to be about US20.00 per month and who know what other subscriptions are coming. If everybody goes the subscription route, it could wind up costing almost as much as real world flying .... Well, that may be a slight exaggeration LOL. Remember too, that this will probably be over the top of the cost of the sim, aircraft, and utilities addons. Whatever we collectively wish for, or, collectively, do not want, I really do not think that a majority of people are going to totally dissatisfied with what MSFS eventually releases. November 24, 20196 yr What I don't want? 1. Bad Performance/FPS at busy airports, stuttering, lags 2. No texture load issues (e.g when you switch between VC and wing view, the wing textures take time to load on a PMDG) 3. Sound being static as you move from forward to back of aircraft.. i.e. no 3D soundscape or FMOD 4. Having to maintain 2 parallel sims (XP11/P3D4 & MSFS) just because some high quality aircraft are there in one sim that have not yet moved to MSFS.. e.g. QW 787 5. No cabin modeled on the airliners.. come on PMDG - it is 64 bit and an ultra modern sim.. i'm sure you can throw in a cabin for that price! 😉 Edited November 24, 20196 yr by vin747 Vinod Kumar i9 10900K 5.3 Ghz, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM, Win 11. November 24, 20196 yr I don't want to have to have it released on a weekday so I don't have to take sick days from work. In other words he "Doesn't want NO VR!", which means, of course, he does want VR!! Ah, I get it. 😄 Edited November 24, 20196 yr by ark

November 24, 20196 yr I do not want to see AI aircraft belly-landing on the airport on their final approach.

(Charts/Moving map a bonus). That probably won't happen without a subscription. Even Microsoft will have to source that data from somewhere. So you'll either pay Microsoft, or you'll pay someone else. I'd prefer someone else, whose business is dedicated to just doing that.

Microsoft have the force, they can do partner deals to bring up to date nav data to the sim, surely. http://youtube.com/c/Greazer
