Man - was the tech alpha 1 reg - already predetermined.  B/c I applied looks like it was always selected parties from Day one - which makes sense - But I guess collecting DXDiag info to get an idea on what the hardware is out there - again my theory

Congrats to the people who are in it

I wouldn't be shocked if verified third party devs were given preferential access, in addition to a bunch of normies like us.  Makes sense to get potential stakeholders on board and seeing what is coming as soon as possible.

The FS Insider site states there is a public forum that has not opened yet.  That is where us "mere mortals" will go when that forum goes public. That's the way I understand it.

Hopefully this means we will be getting ORBX region quality in rural areas where bing maps are not the greatest or the AI struggles, that would be sweet. They may also be doing the rural airports? their Global Airport Pack is pretty amazing.

Apparently John Venema of Orbx is currently listed as a 3rd Party dev and is assigned to a 3rd Party Developers Group with a few others on MSFS forum. He also has access to Tech Alpha 1. Quite interesting as they havent made any official announcement yet.

He had full knowledge of the new sim from the beginning, you can tell by his silence on the matter at hand.  A few other marketing and development decisions  also proved that point.

All this is understandable, Microsoft wants the best developers and he is one them.  Has (by accident???) good knowledge of True Earth scenery develpment behind him!

You just have to learn to read between the lines:)

Cheers,

Bart

Thanks for the list and heads-up,

Doesn't look like PMDG is among them (yet)...

How do you know who are the people still hidden behind the funny nicknames : Randazzo could be Bridalflower  for all we know ? Discretion as the better part of valor 😏.  If Andrew Wilson is in , I doubt that PMDG is not.

John Venema himself did say that the E3 announcement took him by surprise though. He definitely is involved now, but not from the start.
