Good Asian Scenery for 4.5

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm hunting for (but struggling to find) some high quality renditions for some of Asias' larger airports. I've just found imaginesims' WSSS (although can't seem to purchase it via my usual place on SimMarket) however asside from that, are there any other offerings out there? Japan? Bangkok? Hong Kong (I see the old Kai Tak)?

Any recommendations?

Cheers,

Pacsim has quite a few:  RKSI (Seoul Incheon Intl), RKPC (Jeju), RJGG (Nagoya/Chubu Centrair), RJFU (Nagasaki/Fukuoka), RPLL (Manila) and RCTP (Taipei Intl).  I'd class RKSI and RCTP as recent fairly high quality big airports, the others as medium quality older sceneries.

Technobrain RJTT (Tokyo Haneda) is medium-quality.

Taxi2Gate did VHHH (Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok Intl) for FSX I think...it works in P3D.

BDO released VTSP (Phuket) for P3Dv4 fairly recently, but I don't have that one.

None of these are bleeding-edge top-shelf stuff with PBR and flushing toilets in the terminals, but they're as good as it gets in this region.

Tecnobrain has some offer at SimMarket but don’t really know how good they are. Remember having FPS Issues with an old version of Tokyo Hdneda for FSX some years ago.

Best-looking stuff is by BRIDGE scenery with their Chinese airports.
Their new Beijing-Daxing airport ZBAD looks fantastic. They have also released ZUUU, ZGGG and ZGSD.

ImagineSim has WSSS, ZSPD and VIDP. WSSS looks brilliant, caveated by a long thread on here of issues that some people seem to have.

BDOAviation has RJBB, which I think is fine. As already pointed out, they have more recently released VTSP which appears a little bit better.

PacSim have RPLL, RCTP (both I like) and RKSI.

As for Hong Kong, T2G's Chek Lap Kok works with no problems in P3Dv4, but is now a bit dated due to Terminal 2 in their scenery remaining incomplete.
It works really well with FlyTampa's VHHX, who have a built a great city scenery.
For extra realism for contemporary H.K., I've also added Scenery On-Demand's Dragoneye Hong Kong photoscenery - it also adds some missing additions to the H.K. skyline.
You'll need a higher-end PC to cope with all of 3 these add-ons in use simultaneously. But I really think it's worth it.

As for the rest of Asia, there's not a lot else left to recommend just yet. Drzewiecki Design is (AFAIK) still working on RJTT, RJAA and Tokyo city. FSDreamteam is working on a 'lite version' of ZBAD.

Lots of large and popular cities have either been poorly represented or missed out entirely.

Do you think PBR toilets with a complete sound pack is the way to go?😂

WFSS's ZPPP and ZGSZ are really good with Dynamic light and PBR, also even lighter FPS than some ADE based freeware

wish that ORBX will put their attention on that part of Asia...

AYPY Port Moresby in the first PNG package is pretty good

Simming since 1981 -  [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam

WADD (Bali) by Aerosoft is working well in P3D4

There is also WIII - Jakarta by Binersim, not topnotch but perfectly useable

Do not forget the offerings by MFSG:

WBGG - Kuching

WBKK- Kota Kinabalu

WMKP - Penang

and WMKK - Kuala Lumpur by A_A Sceneries is still working in P3D4, although of course it could do with an upgrade. Someone already mentioned VTBS by the same developper, which of course needs to be upgraded too.

AFAIK, Tic is working on a new version of VTSP (the old one is working in P3D4)

Now, if someone would look at the two main airports of Vietnam, VVNB and VVTS 😉

Actually, Australia is not only a nation, but also a continent in its own right, and not part of Asia.  Alternatively, Australia and New Zealand are part of the non-continental Oceania region.

Unfortunately ORBX was working on it, but recently announced that they had abandoned their Asia LC project.

Excellent suggestions all! So far I've purchased WSSS which has exceeded my expectations.  It would be great to grab a Bangkok @Michael Moe whats that version of Bangkok like in P3D V4? I had it running years ago in FSX and recall it was 'ok' for the time. I'm guessing it would be pretty basic in comparision to other sceneries now?

Think I might also go with FT VHHX! T

Thanks all

Take also Scenery Tech - Land class for Asia. It works well in P3Dv4 also.
