flat-Earther dies in rocket crash

Featured Replies

Actually, his flat earth thoughts were just part of the hype for the show. if the flight had been a success, he was going to say that he changed his mind and that  the earth was not flat. The real culprit here was the producer of the show.

don't believe that, he just need to hop on any flight that cruises at 40000 ft or so to see it's not flat ... or just look out at an ocean.

Cheers, Rob.

...or look at a lunar eclipse...

Having served in the Merchant Navy for many years, and observing ships appear and disappear over the horizon,I have finally come to the conclusion, that yes, the earth is indeed round 😂

Cheers,

Don't even need to do that, you can literally just go up a few flights of stairs in a tall building and then look out of the window. When you observe that you can see further in every direction than you could when you were on the ground floor, geometrically, that's only possible if you are on the surface of a large sphere.

Nearly, but not quite true.

Your story is better 😎

I've  also heard Life On Mars was inspired by Comme d’habitude as well, it has similarities apparently. They are both great though but Life on Mars is one of his best in my POV

It is a cool story that, isn't it? I like the idea of Bowie desperately writing some awful songs for a pittance, it's like the opening to some kind of Cinderella-esque movie. Another interesting bit to that tale is that apparently Sinatra didn't actually like My Way very much either, claiming it was a bit whiny and self indulgent lyrically, which I suppose it is really.

Anyway, here is a fun thing which you can impress people with... There is actually a word for the act of nicking the tune of another song and putting new words to it - contrafactum. That's a good one to throw into the conversation when some muso is boring the @rse off you and you want to shut them up lol.

Arguing with flat-earther is one of the most pointless things one can do. Science is all wrong, everything is CGI and they have an "answer" for absolutely everything - made up on the spot, usually. Can't win, never, ever.

Ask any flat-earther how you can

Not even.  Just ask any flat-earther how a 6 hour flight is possible from Tokyo to Anchorage based on their theory.

These "plate earthers" always have an excuse for that. They say that curvature of the earth seen on an airplane is just an optical illusion caused by an airplane window 😄

He may not have proved the Earth to be flat but he did prove it to be hard and unforgiving. The first Darwinian award candidate for 2020.

He should have been more down-to-earth.
