Clouds look too fluffy to me. I have seen clouds looking photoreal in this sim but others too fluffy.

I think so too. Pretty much all the cumulus clouds. I still find them way too fluffy as well and thought so from the very beginning. Comparing to real cumuli as seen from a plane they should have far more edge noise and detail especially at short to mid viewing distances. In all those screenshots I just see rather smooth clouds. Hope there is still a chance for improvement, even if it's after release. Love the shadows, the light and all, and I'm not saying I dislike the look of the clouds in general - I just think these types of clouds could need more definition. Nitpicking nevertheless, given what we will get...

Also, if you look at the Icon32 picture, you can see bridges are still giving them trouble.

Not only there, also the thomas3302 picture. Look at the two bridges at the left and in the middle, they are basically solid bricks.

Also, regarding those mountain shots (tomlaut1980, Acktu Nasrabi) I still wonder if the shadows are baked in or not. Hope not. 😅

Nice catch on thomas3302.  I looked on Bing Maps, and it shows the same thing, almost like a carbon copy.  Even the cars are 3D on Bing Maps...

On two shadow pictures, they seem OK to me.  I haven't zoomed in though.  But the game is rendering the plane shadows.  So if those match the terrain shadows, then it should be OK.  And it looks like they match.

My brother has Coronavirus, confirmed by testing. On 3/26 he almost didn't survive the night.  He had extreme trouble breathing and was given a steroid inhaler.  He was very weak, had nausea, and other issues that aren't pleasant.  As of this update he is feeling much better, and seems he will be fine.  Stay safe out there.  (Updated 4/6)

The level of detail on those photogrammetry cities in insane, my god

postponing movie releases (James Bond)

I was surprised when I found out about that yesterday. It was one of two movies, that and Top Gun 2, that I was actually looking forward to seeing at the movies and now we’ll have to wait until Nov. I even had a count down timer on my phone for it. 😂😂

Stay well Asobo crew. We all wish you well as that is the most important thing right now, your health.

Um, but hey, this isn't an animated flat surface! omg!

Just hope nobody says the waves are too big, or they get a fry pan in the face 😕

I'm wearing my icehockey helmet with cage just to be sure.

Waves certainly are not too big, it's the capacity of the screenshot that strikes me because it's the first ever MSFS screenshot that shows the subject (the Caravan) razor sharp in front of a very blurry background (the sea). No other MSFS screenie shows a capacity like this. The impression i get is of a realworld RC model of a Caravan flying over a rough sea at low altitude, shot with a very fast shutter speed so only the subject remains sharp. ( not that such is the case, if it would the sea would be even more blurrier and would show that well known background movement effect ).

It's not like i am the only one here that thinks that the sea looks blurry while the Caravan looks sharp, is it ??.... I mean, there's no way you can take a screenshot like this without messing about with it...... Can i say it's... uhmmmmm.... fake ?

Only asking..

Ah AVSIM - heaven forbid some users might share different views from the moderators and therefor must be silenced! The Coronavirus was a large part of that update and it's a shame you think that any mention of it, and how it might affect production of this exciting sim should be silenced.

In one of the leaked videos - I remember seeing a camera option that had something like "theatrical mode" or "cinematic mode", please, don't phrase me on those exact words - but it appeared there was a camera mode that gave the viewer a kinda of jazzed up and pretty, more theatrical look. We've seen these shallow depth of field images before and I suspect thats where we're getting them from. But - you know, who knows ??

Today I was looking at clouds and rain curtains close to my local airport (LEMD), and I only thought about how beautiful MSFS could look like in certain conditions.

And after today screenshots, I'm pretty sure We will have amazing sky's over there...

I know what you mean, absolutely, i believe some race games have such an option too. If that's true for MSFS as well that would be lovely of course but we have not seen a fantastic looking rough sea amongst all MSFS screenshots yet. So if this is the first I'd say make *THAT* the subject in full, sharp glory instead of the Caravan which we all know like the back of our hand. Btw, i'm getting a sore butt from sitting at the edge of my seat waiting for MSFS to arrive but i can almost not believe we're going to get an animated rough sea like that shown in the screenshot, however blurry...

The RC look can also be due to zoom levels.  You’ll notice the same thing on pictures taken irl with telescopic lens.  For example, aircraft lined up on approach.  If you zoom in with a telescopic lens, the aircraft in trail will look gigantic as well compared to the aircraft in foreground.  I’m confident it is just zoom levels.

The 3rd screenshot WOW, happy to hear there will be more alpha invitations sent out. Hope everyone remains safe out there.

Yup, I suspected that was what it was too. It's a quite common effect in action movies. We've all seen this kind of shot in action movies many times, typically it would be the shot where you have your hero coolly walking away from an explosion without looking back (usually in slow motion). If you shoot that kind of scene with a long lens and zoom in, it will have the effect of making the explosion look very much closer to the actor than is genuinely the case, so it's a good technique to use if you don't want to CGI an explosion, but also don't want to blow up your movie star. As noted, doing that tends to make the background which is really quite far away from what is in the foreground of the shot look a lot bigger and closer than it would ordinarily appear.
