And Bing Maps knows where the roads are. Are you talking about the bridges are solid underneath? That is true, and the same as Bing Maps shows. If you mean something else, then I am lost. My brother has Coronavirus, confirmed by testing. On 3/26 he almost didn't survive the night. He had extreme trouble breathing and was given a steroid inhaler. He was very weak, had nausea, and other issues that aren't pleasant. As of this update he is feeling much better, and seems he will be fine. Stay safe out there. (Updated 4/6)
March 6, 20206 yr Some very lovely pics but after all the wows, allow me some hmmms. Bucharest : the AI doesn't do such a wonderful job automatically correcting the colors after all. At least not yet. Greenish tint all over including on the pavement. A positive point is the integration of the palace which doesn't seem like a toy laid on the ground as it would in P3D. Clouds : I love clouds. I am lucky enough to have a house with beautiful, sometimes spectacular cloudscapes. But I feel that what I see in the pics is a tad overdone, the word which comes to my mind is hollywoodian Slidhydra, JonasAlexander2 Baked shadows : Again the AI doesn't do everything. Obvious in he last pic, in the Jordanian desert the shadows are baked in. The pic is astutely taken with live shadow disconnected or at the right time of the day not to show the double shadow. One the reason I've been staying away of PR sceneries… I hope that this will be corrected with an AI shadow eraser 😁. Ugly trees: will we have to invent a neologism for photogrammetric trees : treegly ? Cf. the stadium pic. Water : looks good but looking forward to see it in motion, with an aircraft on it. March 6, 20206 yr No one should be upset for a limited update due to health concerns. Prudency, health and family trumps development. Nevertheless the screenshots are still great to see. Wow that water. (ship simulation take note!) Would be nice to see some user videos of these shots even if its :20sec. Some mention things are not corrected yet. I was under the impression that only happens on the next Alpha build which they said will be soon so how could things like bridges and clouds be corrected beforehand. Unless they send micro updates continuously. "Some big things on the horizon" statement.... talk about piquing the interest to max level. March 6, 20206 yr Beautiful and nice progress. For the night time shot, I don't think I see any lighting from homes and any other building except main streets lighting I believe. I hope to see improvements in that regard. Thanks Evan
March 6, 20206 yr While the screenshots of Table Mountain in Cape Town look convincing, I must say that the mesh of the screenshots of Germany, Jordan and Peru is not that convincing. The mountain tops and valleys are way too round. But this may also be due to the individual settings of the alpha testers. Edited March 6, 20206 yr by ArchStanton

Not so chuffed all the coming news (so tantalising!) is being delayed another week - like finding on Xmas Day when you rush through to the tree in the morning to open the presents, only to find an empty tree, and the briefest of notes from Santa ... "Rudolf's gone down with the Corona virus, and the whole team is stuck in quarantine!" word not allowed! .... I've been impatiently ticking the hours off - one by one - since the last delay ... and now ... the stress of the dashed expectations of a 5 year-old all over again ... Sigh! 🤣 Yes, was delightfully surprised to see the Western Cape night pictures....Milnerton, Table View and Bloubergstarand. The highway layout looks very true to life. March 6, 20206 yr Also, if you look at the very first screenshot and its corresponding location on bing maps you will see a very pronounced color shift apparently where satellite images overlap (this is true for all closer zoom levels). I can't see that in the sim, so to me that looks like some effective correction has taken place. I was wrong, actually the trees get a lot darker in the background too. At first I thought those were cloud shadows until I noticed that's actually pretty severe CAVOK there. Interesting, even the 3D trees get darker. Do they get their color from the satellite background? Regarding water: Remember there have been some short clips of the water moving in e. g. the soundscape EP 5 (9:00). Might be an older version but still gives some impression what to expect. Edited March 6, 20206 yr by badderjet

Thanks for the tantalizing comment ! 😉 It’s blurry because of the screenshot effect. It’s a common depth of field effect in screenshot modes for games that has become common because of the previous generation of consoles getting “share” functionality built in.

March 6, 20206 yr I wonder how depth of field is managed in the screenshots and during flight. Sometimes everything is crisp and sharp from cockpit-instruments to background, also in outside views. But some screenshots have background out of focus (waves in MoMedia1) and some have foreground out of focus (leaves and trees in djays72). Is this an automatic effect or can this adjusted?
