I think V4 also got a HF right after release if I remember correctly. I7-10700 (4.8 GHz with HT enabled) 2x16GB DDR4 3600MHz Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super OC Gaming
April 15, 20206 yr At first glance, this dissatisfaction right off the bat looks like Boeing rushing out the flawed Max to compete with Airbus: And now perhaps, LM rushing out a beta V5 to compete with MS 2020?

That is one side, also I think the release of XP11.50 (Vulkan Beta), could have rushed things for them. Maybe, just guessing here. Anyway sometimes I think, LM have nothing to much to lose since they have these military training contracts AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000MHZ RAM, RX7900XT, FreeSync 165hz 1440p display
April 15, 20206 yr Well I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in LM and previewers. Not once came it around that volumetric clouds wont cast shadows or have only one layer. This renders that new feature completely useless. I'll certainly pass the offering for now.

Previewers like Simbol and Rob have said there are shadows and multiple Layers, I trust them more than some people not in the Beta team. April 15, 20206 yr Never seen LM rushing like that. And I don't think it's FS2020 related, since this one is probably so far from release, yet. Also the target market for P3D are the military and professional training, not us. Best regards, Wanthuyr Filho Instagram: AeroTacto

I'm a little torn, and while I'm torn I'll probably stick with v4 until some sort of consensus emerges. There are so many people with conflicting reviews out there, that I'll probably stay put at least until sometime next week, when the dust starts to settle. Strange, but I stay away from v5 until several things are more clear to me... I'm gettin' on that bus too. Will wait for 5.1
April 15, 20206 yr If somebody could just answer this though, because I'm hopelessly confused. Does TrueSky have cloud shadows yes or no? April 15, 20206 yr I definitely saw cloud shadows yesterday, but forgot to take a screenshot. I'm just guessing here but I don't think they show up for one individual cloud; it's as if you need an overcast layer or a bunch of clouds grouped together for them to appear.

That might not be so weird, actually. Given the distance between ground and cloud, I don't think you can expect the size of the shadows to be the size of the cloud...? Right? But I was always bad at physics, so please correct me. April 15, 20206 yr There's no complex explanation, they're simply not working. Yes, the ground does get uniformly darkened depending on (average?) cloud coverage, but no individual cloud shadows...
