April 29, 20206 yr @Vic, I am just a French developer (www.frenchvfr.free.fr) and my message is just to remark the possibility for every one who download C-47's Manfred to solve the CTD if they use it on Prepar3D v5. @Captain420, Manfred has used A2A windshield freeware of A2A so I think that C172 an C182 should run also on P3D v5 if you change the windshiled provided in theses planes by this one (20.4.20) Best regards, Didier "Lagaffe" Boitier HAF 932 / ASUS Z390 STRIX-F Gaming / i9 9900K / Cruxial Ballistic 32 Go à 3200 Ghz / Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti / 34" Samsung FreeSync 21:9 SSD: Samsung 1To + 2 Cruxial 256 Go / Stockage : WD 4To et WD 2 To / Hotas Warthog and Throttle Cougar
April 29, 20206 yr Great news. With a native v5 A2A installer hopefully in the pipeline then, all I need is Active Sky and I can finally get flying. I haven’t tested it so could be way off, but the v5 download includes a new windshield.dll which is the file many have had to disable to move products from v4 to v5 so i would think that is doable by the end user if that’s the only issue an aircraft has in v5? April 29, 20206 yr Exactly, one cannot add this to an aircraft that does not already have it, unless one is the developer. One can indeed add the windshield.dll back into an aircraft that does have it and it then works in P3D v5. The Manfred Jahn C 47 being a case in point and I have tested it. Definitely one worth having if you like the Fortress. Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

I can't locate where in the Jahn C 47 build, does the dll go, I don't remember having to rename it, and it's still loading in v5 for me. Where did you find it's location? Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's
April 29, 20206 yr Normally the effect is in the 'panel' folder. Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

Where did you find it's location? You will need to be using the PBR version and in P3D v5. If you were and you had not renamed or deleted the windshield.dll file, you would have found that an attempt to load the aircraft would crash P3D. If it does not, then you don't have the PBR version. As mentioned, the dll goes in the panel folder. If you do not see a windshirld.ini file in the main C47 folder, then you probably don't need the updated file because you probably don't have the PBR version with the windscreen effects.
