May 7, 20206 yr Here's a test flight departing KIAH. If you look out towards the horizon, the clouds looks a bit strange and seems to hover over the horizon. Not sure if its a bug or what, but I am pretty much using default settings for Active Sky with True Sky enabled. May 7, 20206 yr Author Well it doesn't happen with true sky off, but the point of me showing is that I want to be able to use it with it enabled. But this is how it looks with it off. chase bank closest chase bank ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU
May 7, 20206 yr I encourage everyone to please post bugs or issues they find directly to the dev's hifisimtech forums. That is the point of open beta after all. Inform the devs themselves of what we find, so that they can fix it. PC- AMD Ryzen 7800X3D, 64gb 6400mhz RAM, Nvidia RTX4090

May 7, 20206 yr They were pretty clear about the fact that TRUESKY currently lacks both SDK and API. Things like this are to be expected with it enabled as long as Lockheed doesn't change that. But why waste time with reading full announcements on the devleoper's website, when can you just post on AVSIM that something is not working... Edited May 8, 20206 yr by Farlis
May 8, 20206 yr Whenever I read on Avsim about something in the sky looking weird/strange/wrong/unrealistic I'm reminded of the time I was out walking with my old lady and pointing to the clouds which were hundreds of puffy balls. I said " If that was in the simulator people would scream 'That's SO unrealistic' The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
May 8, 20206 yr Just installed. Where is that option for True Sky, or does it only appertain when running V5? Rick Almeida
May 8, 20206 yr Users of P3DV5 reported exactly this same effect with True Sky even when using a default overcast theme before AS was available. The True Sky cloud bases appear flat out to the horizon, and do not seem to follow the curvature of the earth. This is something LM will have to address in their True Sky implementation. I don’t think Active Sky has any control over it. Edited May 8, 20206 yr by JRBarrett Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. If you believe it's a bug, post in in their support forum - in addition, feel free to discuss it here. as to TrueSky - LM stated that it is a BETA implementation - it's something you might experiment with and test but if you plan on flying with it a lot, you will be unhappy. For best results in V5 - Enhanced Atmosphere should be off Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
May 8, 20206 yr Guys. Please post this on LM side. This is a TrueSky issue. I posted on LM already, but no one else joined till now.... I tested it with default P3D V5 layer as well, no AS installed back then. This has nothing to fo with AS Link (Title says VR, but it is also visible without VR......couldn´t revert back and to change the title): https://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=137725 would be great to get some attention from LM on this as it is really a immersion killer in my opinion. The whole 3d depth effect is strange. I posted also an image on there. Marcus Edited May 8, 20206 yr by mpo910 Regards, Marcus P.
