I understand your pain and we all are aware of the issue, yet again we dont know for sure which version of the sim we are seeing...I would like to see something from the Beta to get an idea if any progress have been made or that they will leave it like it is. By then I will agree with you it will be desirable to have a way for ourselves to tweak the trees and other stuff we see out of place..

For whatever flaws the sim may have, and I really wish we could discuss them here, there's no denying that the visual experience is just next level overall. Not perfect, but next level. I finally managed to download in full quality. It's fantastic. Alright, that's it, I'm not concerned anymore, I'm just buying this Honeycomb now 🙂

Either way, I am happy to be getting this sooner than later. i9-10900k * 64GB 3600MHz Ram * RTX 3090 running 3 75" 4k displays smoothly. Full 737 MAX enclosed cockpit from FDS

Releasing it for PC now allows more testing and more polishing before then. Obviously we both are simply speculating.

Don't expect MSFS to progress much now, IMHO. Asobo will be announcing layoffs too I guess, what size is the team, 200+ ? That's just not sustainable. Matthew S
July 19, 20205 yr Moderator Oh for heaven's sake, let's not get in a panic mode! https://www.crn.com/news/cloud/microsoft-layoffs-confirmed-across-its-divisions-report Quote Business Insider has earlier reported that the Microsoft layoffs hit under 1,000 jobs, including some at its MSN.com online news site and its Microsoft Azure cloud division. July 19, 20205 yr The MS layoffs were mostly in sales, marketing and some company they had acquired - increased automation played a role. There was some in Azure division too. I wouldn't go reading too much into it yet. MS do this every fiscal year as they re-evaluate business lines. They're making good money right now on the games side so doubt they'd be scaling back hugely right now. But naturally as the FS2020 moves into production they're going to reallocate or let go some resources. No company keeps a full team working on a project forever as smaller add ons in the future require less people.
July 20, 20205 yr Moderator Since Asobo is an independent contractor for MS, they have more than enough other titles to occupy their staff. MSFS ain't their first or only rodeo pardner! 😅 Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

MSFS ain't their first or only rodeo pardner! Yes and exactly why, when Microsoft stops giving them money, Asobo stops working on MSFS and switches focus to something else. Microsoft have lost interest, execs are questioning, "what's the flight simulator thing, how long have we been working on it, 3 years, really?", hence the big push to release MSFS for PC early, and get the XBOX version finished. When the money flies off, the project dies off. Edited July 20, 20205 yr by MatthewS Matthew S
