Do I dare to say it. Ok, I will: The trees are still massive 🤐

And I didn't know there were so many trees in NYC! 🙂

Anyway, looks great.

lol, yes, you dare say.

No comments on car behavior? Well, OK it's a flight sim, let's not judge the cars.

So on my current shift I get a 3 hour swing in Manhattan. I've been taking ~5+ mile walks around. Tree's are more plentiful than people - they're massive, too.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Indeed. Bryant Park, Union Square and Central Park all look as overgrown as the Amazon rainforest.

I found it interesting to see how the airplane was stopped of all motion while the game engine loaded in new scenery (I guess). The panning of the camera was still active during this arrest. Seems to render and handle cacheing differently from the sims I've used so far. So you could have good enough fps with low bandwith/machine specs, but you would suffer from these reoccurring arrests. Also noticed how his sound was stuttering the whole time, indicating that something was wrong with his specs/settings (ie. overtaxing his system).

I noticed he was playing multiplayer (there was another plane besides him), so I think it was just his connection or the server that lagged. I don't think scenery loading would stop your plane like that.

Is it possible it was a type of slew mode? I assumed he stopped to take a snapshot of the Statue of Liberty behind him.

I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of watermarks is because some journalists have gotten media test kits from MS. Maybe they have a build w/o watermarks. Just speculating.

Annnnndddddd...... As predicted, somebody seems to have defeated the leak protection. (Whut a surprise!)

The only surprise is that it took them this long. 🙂

I watched about half of the video.  It was weird seeing it without watermarks.  Not sure why all the stutters.  I haven't been to New York yet.

Actually, I never saw anything wrong in the video, but then I wasn't looking.  People looking for things to complain about will always find them. 🙂

And like I told someone a very long time ago about a certain game, "Once you stop playing WITH the game and start PLAYING it, you won't notice the problems."  When I'm in the cockpit I'm concentrating too much on what I'm doing to go looking for errant pixels. 🙂  I may or may not notice a stray oversize tree.  Errors stand out more when you're watching a video.

There's another leaked video on YouTube.

Some better flying this time, but similar sim issues

  • scenery pops
  • strange things happen under bridges
  • ships glued to the water
  • arcade like plane behavior (Or maybe this type of plane really banks this snappy, stand perfectly still in 0.1s after a roll I mean? Then I've said nothing.)
  • And lol ... definitely too many trees. 🙂

I know, I know ... we don't know the settings. But still.

I'm going to buy MSFS anyhow, but we may be critical ... in the end hopefully our findings and feedback will make the product better.

Again, I just don't understand the comment about 'arcade like plane behaviour.'

It's an Extra 330LT, certified up to +/- 10G and a roll rate of 270 degrees per second.

I think it looks phenomenal.

Minor issues with model/texture loading, but nothing that presumably can't be solved with some downloading. Manhattan is about as difficult as it gets.

Also saw the Cessna video - again looks absolutely incredible. But don't think it has the latest watermarks? Who knows what build it is (same for the NYC video).

The new leak with the Cessna looks absolutely phenomenal. Those sounds. My word.

Enjoyed it as well this sim will be sweet to fly into.

Yeah the Extra 330LT is literally a real life "arcade" plane. There is nothing wrong with its behavior in my opinion.

Btw, noticed that there was a big white line with a small downpointing arrow in the middle of it (the whole thing was in the center of the screen, upper half). Is that a ui indicator of the game downloading scenery? It's not present the whole time, and it was more often present in the video of the first video in NYC.

In fact, I avoid flying those planes because they always feel too twitchy/sensitive to me.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.
