This is why, despite me having rudder pedals (EDIT with brakes) I always make sure anti-skid is turned on in FSX because there is nothing telling me that I've locked up the wheels, unless I switch to a zoomed-in external side view to actually watch the wheels - which is definitely NOT conducive to keeping the aircraft on the runway... Nothing wrong at all. In any case, the majority of controllers do not feed-back and do not have the physical range that real controls have. All about being immersive.. hi Robin, sure, I agree. The reason I said it was practical it’s because I don’t have a dedicated desk for simming, I use it for work as well and that means spending some time in setting up all of the hardware for maybe a 1 hour casual flight... I’d rather use the XBox controller, connect ForeFlight and done. If I have the time over the weekend for some planned (GA) or heavy flights, I’d do the entire setup (including trackIR). But, in both cases, following real world procedures (to me) is more important and immersive than installing the gear. Serious question to anyone doing VR: How do you use all the goodies in a no-HOTAS hardware setup in a VR environment? For example, when using the Honeycomb, hardware panels and throttle quadrants? July 19, 20205 yr There's another leaked video on YouTube. Some better flying this time, but similar sim issues scenery pops strange things happen under bridges ships glued to the water arcade like plane behavior (Or maybe this type of plane really banks this snappy, stand perfectly still in 0.1s after a roll I mean? Then I've said nothing.) And lol ... definitely too many trees. 🙂 I know, I know ... we don't know the settings. But still. I'm going to buy MSFS anyhow, but we may be critical ... in the end hopefully our findings and feedback will make the product better. July 19, 20205 yr Annnndddd, one more... The fact that there are now leaks in plain view on YouTube makes me think that one month from release, some testers don't care about having access to alpha or beta anymore...

I know it’s NYC (which will probably be the most taxing area in the sim and we know nothing about this guys system.) Also why is the Empire State Building about 10 shades lighter than any other building?

Because despite these bugs, I think this video clearly confirms the enormous potential of the engine, unlike the SFO one.

July 19, 20205 yr Of course, I have a nice machine, and could show a really nice video, but also of course, I'm still under NDA......... We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... July 19, 20205 yr These two leaked videos are much nicer than the SFO one. Still a bit of autogen popping and terrain morphing but nothing that would bother me. The guy effing around in SFO must have played it on a potato PC.
July 19, 20205 yr I found it interesting to see how the airplane was stopped of all motion while the game engine loaded in new scenery (I guess). The panning of the camera was still active during this arrest. Seems to render and handle cacheing differently from the sims I've used so far. So you could have good enough fps with low bandwith/machine specs, but you would suffer from these reoccurring arrests. Also noticed how his sound was stuttering the whole time, indicating that something was wrong with his specs/settings (ie. overtaxing his system). July 19, 20205 yr The new leak with the Cessna looks absolutely phenomenal. Those sounds. My word. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
