July 30, 20205 yr I sum up. Avsimmers, true simmers, hardcore simmers, serious simmers, are just an anal retentive, pretentious and boorish lot. The newbies are gentle flowers which are just opening to a new world of wonders and need to be gently nurtured. Did I get everything right ? July 30, 20205 yr I think things have changed from 20 years ago, we are now in the switch it on play instantly no setting up era, this is why the new game consoles have been optimised for fast loading and all the big tach company`s are going in to game streaming, no download just play that`s the future the younger generation don`t want to spend time setting things up and maintaining hardware. July 30, 20205 yr I hope we get a lot of XBOX gamers, a lot of kids, a lot of casuals, and I hope they enjoy the game and buy some of Microsofts DLC's. The more people who join our hobby, the more we get out of ASOBO/Microsoft/Addon Developers. We'll never keep pushing the envelope without the support of the larger base. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

I presume that you've never encountered any Call of Duty, or GTA players then?? With their potty mouthed, cyber bullying antics... and that's just the 8 year olds playing an 18 rated game!. July 30, 20205 yr Personally, I'm looking forward to an influx of young, vibrant, knowledgable, app aware, woke, iPhone staring, grammar deficient snowflake sweethearts to come and show us how it's done. Bring it on! 👍 The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
July 30, 20205 yr I think I was five when I started playing with my first flight sim. Maybe 6. Anyone here think 6 year old Eslader was doing anything more than fooling around? It's perfectly OK to approach simming as a game. Sometimes people who start out approaching it as a game end up moving much deeper in to the sim side. And even if they don't, that's OK too. It boggles my mind that people get upset about how other people do things. Just because Joe Gamer is just here to fool around doesn't mean you have to lower your personal sim standards. The world would be a lot better if people would stop getting twisted up about the things other people do that don't impact anyone else. If a reprobate impacts into the side of your plane just as it approaches the runway threshold after flying the perfect STAR - so perfect that you amazed even yourself - then you'd no doubt be upset.. We'll see soon enough - some newbies will just join to screw things up, but then I suppose they won't be able to stay for very long. Others will be just fine. July 30, 20205 yr It's my understanding that we can block people/groups who do not share our approach to the sim. I can't imagine that we won't be able to block *everyone* if we want to fly purely solo, which is probably going to be my approach unless I'm specifically participating in some online event. July 30, 20205 yr Maybe just a reminder to look at someone's post count first before jumping down their throat. 😉
July 30, 20205 yr MSFS is going to be on Steam, so we don't need to worry about supporting newbies. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
