August 7, 20205 yr I know I have said this before but I hope Asobo does get to fix the autopilot and flight model issues in the A320 and B747. The default airlines should have automatic VNAV calculation when loading a flight plan and also allow editing of the altitudes and speeds in the FMC. The other things to add is TOD distance and allow input of descent angle for the VNAV to take into account. The aircraft quality i think is almost there to provide realistic flights without the need to spend extra money for a study level aircraft. As I said before, I don’t have any interest in buying study level aircraft. The main features are the FMC, and LNAV and VNAV functions. That is perfect to me. If they can do that (or freeware developers after release) and fix the tree length lol, then awesome. Edited August 7, 20205 yr by ap1

August 7, 20205 yr The good news is MS now has the cash from the per-orders to fix the issues😀 Raymond Fry.

MS is a public company, so of course if things don't go as planned revenue wise, they would "pull the plug" without a second thought, but I'd give it at least 2 years before that those deliberations take place. Or maybe you think the (reported) 150+ Asobo/MS team is going to work on FS2020 full time for the next 10 years? 🤦♂️ I would think that after release on the 18th the FS2020 team is drastically scaled back to maybe 10 full-time employees at most, working on the next update and bug fixes. August 7, 20205 yr I'd like to offer a bit of perspective regarding the tree issue. While it may seem like a trivial task to adjust the size, a workable solution may be far more complex. A piece of software of this scope and complexity has dependencies, especially when AI is involved, where the adjustment of one parameter can cause an enormous amount of downstream impact. A portion of my profession is acting as an intermediary between business-oriented and technical people. I'd be rich if I had a dollar for every time I was in the position of explaining why some "simple" feature couldn't just be thrown in during the eleventh hour of a project and why an enormous amount of further testing would be required. I have illustrated my point below with a flowchart for some of the logic behind sending a notification in Slack. The interplay of a few basic features sharply increases the complexity of the task.

I imagine most of the Asobo/MS team are contractors and not employees anyway, precisely so they can downscale the team after release. 5 minutes ago, Hyperfocal said: I'd like to offer a bit of perspective regarding the tree issue. There's probably a few dozen models, sent to the graphics card at startup, which are then scaled, rotated and tilted algorithmically on the card to give the perception of a trillion unique trees. Just add scaling constraints to an .ini file so the user can constrain tree scale to their own liking, it's not rocket science. 🚀 Matthew S

August 8, 20205 yr "comically exaggerated" is the term used, I believe. Which might indeed describe the tree sizes, but definitely describes the outrage over the tree sizes. Matthew, your point has been completely and thoroughly heard. If it weren't constantly accompanied by little passive aggressive digs at anybody who dares question you, I might even have more sympathy for your point. It will be fixed, or it won't. Raising the issue in the first place makes it more likely to be taken seriously, harping on it without end generally has the opposite effect.
