Does it "autogen" the myriads of oil well pumps I remember have seen  around Odessa TX (admittedly long ago) ?

Hm, I flew through Midland-Odessa down highway 20 but I don't remember seeing any oil pumps.  If they weren't on the chart, I wouldn't have been looking for them.  That area is gorgeous in MSFS, by the way.

Will there be a replay function at launch, and if not, when will it come? A: Working on it.

yea I saw that part... his response left me feeling as if it was going to be a good while yet before it's ready.

Just had a look on GE, the pumps are still there on concrete flat ground platforms. The landscape is covered with them. Time to post at the Zen desk 😉.

They may well have been.  MSFS is pretty good about having stuff in the sim that is in the satellite photos.  I just wasn't looking for them.

The G1000 in the beta is less capable than the one in FSX was.

How so?

I don't see the point in mentioning something like thst when you cant elaborate. Sounds like an agenda.

I can't get my hands son it until the 24th due to work and family stuff. But I'm sure I'll figure it out.

I'm after that analogue cockpit though!

Old times!

You and me both!  I have yet to fly a single glass cockpit aircraft in MSFS.

We really have to be careful what we say.  I mean, if I break the NDA badly enough to get Microsoft's attention, they can remove my account and I wouldn't be able to access Microsoft Flight any more.

Oh wait, I haven't been able to access that in years.

I will confirm the G1000 in the current beta is a meme in terms of functionality. I heard some of it got fix in the release build but I have no idea to what extent.

The agenda is to try and keep expectations of other people somewhat realistic about what we'll see next week. I'll comment on these things when they are also mentioned in various preview videos which are not under NDA. You'll notice I did the same when I mentioned the missing airports.

I like the part about updating the scenery.

It sounds like you could fly over an area that isn't 100% accurate, a couple months later you could fly over the same place and it's fixed.

They also said something that surprised me - that they would be adding some more hand-crafted airports in particular areas of interest as part of the free updates to regions whose imagery improves down the line. I'm not expecting them to provide free additional large international airports (of course it would be nice if they did), but continually giving us additional airports of any type in the future is a pretty nice gesture I think.

They all came across as very passionate about what they are doing and the ~1hr video watch went very quickly for me. It always amazes me how orally competent and entertaining they are, considering that English is their second language. Sure wish that I had that skill in another language!

Sorry Ron.....I dont know how that got Your name in the quote.

Sorry you are worked up. I actually think that These guys have done a great job. At some point folks just have to understand that 1. the world is a big place 2. Designing cockpit electronics and systems is very complicated. 3. Weather is a very specific science and add to the taking all that data and making it work on about a ka-zillion different computer is mind boggling. I don't know how folks expect them to do all that and more and to get it ready for release in the next 5 days. As an example I have be doing this for many many years and a top complaint has been ATC. In all that time, no one and I mean no one has been able to make that work as in real life. It it were possible it would have been done and someone would be very wealthy for the effort. One last point, I could care less about you opinion of what I said. Just because some one see's something different than you does not today or ever make their view negative.

Er...You talkin' to me?
