Mute the background Music for future Streams, hearing that was annoying. Only saw final 15minutes and first 5minutes, so a way to replay it on YouTube would be great.

The big question for me is how much they can improve avionics and flight models from the Beta versions to the release.

I was also listening for that, and it seemed to me that they were going to leave some of that to 3rd parties to deliver.. so the default planes may simply be whatever they are at pesent..

Kind of like what we have seen in the past.. where no one really flies the default airplanes.. after a2a and PMDG do their thing..

I would be happy if everything with the G1000 works as it did in FSX in addition to the new stuff like synthetic vision, but there's still some functions missing.

I asked these questions:

  • Will we be able to pre-download the sim before the 18th? A: Fuzzy. Probably not.

  • Regarding the addons you buy in the in-sim market: Will we be able to update them directly in the sim, or must we go to the 3rd party devs to get them updated? Was not answered.

  • Will there be a replay function at launch, and if not, when will it come? A: Working on it.

  • Any progress updates on shared cockpit? A: Working on it.

  • On many of the videos now on youtube, the smaller airplanes when viewed from outside, seem to have a very unstable movement through the air. They oscillate all the time, with the tail bobbing up and down. Are they stabile enough, and do they have enough interia to be representative of the real thing? A: Long and technical, but reassuring answer.

  • How will MSFS updates be handled in regards to not disrupting the addons too much (ie. addons stops working when MSFS updates the sim)? A: Not answered

  • Will there be any difference in user experience between the steam and windows store versions (ie. will updates and functionality be equally distributed)? A: There will not be any differences.

  • Is the Microsoft support team ready to assist customers come launch day, and would you care to give us some insight into what preparations you have made in this regard? A: Not answered.

Isn't that sad Bert? All those gorgeous looking default airplanes parked in the hangar, used as doorstops!

Underneath, slightly  to the left is the whole video. Free of charge. I'm not sure if you can see it without a Twitch account. But try it out!

Indeed... lets hope for a better outcome.. but that is what it sounded like.

Hopefully we have all gotten some good flights in with what is there.. certainly a lot to choose from!

The Garmin implementation is kinda weird currently. With certain suites in the default planes, it's almost up to payware GTN 750 functionality from previous sims, with others, there's totally basic stuff that just doesn't work. Hard to say if this is working as intended or just not finished.

This is something I really hope will get fixed.. would go a long way to keeping the default aircraft on my "active" list..

It seems to me that just like current and past sims, in the end the real quality and detail is going to come from 3rd party developers. That is not a complaint in anyway and at least to me not a surprise. It will come down to each user how much they want to add and how much they want to spend. This idea that out of the box you are going to get advanced features and systems that are better than the current tricked P3D or x-plane is just not going to happen. 1 year from now we will see Weather, Camera, Airport services, flight planners and all the stuff we have always had.

Well, that's not quite true from my experience. The default planes are in a weird place in the testing version where they're in some ways incredibly advanced avionics-wise (compared to FSX), and in other aspects it seems certain functions were just omitted for no good reason. That's what makes it so frustrating, when you push a G1000 button and wonder if some function will be working at release when it was just standard in FSX.

It's a ridiculous expectation ; P3D ala FSX has been around for 14yrs , X- plane versions since '95 .

The G1000 in the beta is less capable than the one in FSX was.

FSX had a default G1000?

Happy with MSFS 🙂

Kudos to Jayne, I think she put forward just about all of the burning questions currently floating about.
