I am glad that I didn't purchase MSFS2020-I will eventually, but P3d v5 has grown on me- and i haven't owned it very long. All the acrimony reminds me of the release of FS2000. Anyone remember? the insults were brutal. I remember my machine was just a little below the recommended  specs, but no where near the minimum. I was shocked to be only getting 8fps on the ground. I wasn't alone. The forums were filled with comments like " get a job and buy a better computer" I see history is repeating. I'm hoping that these bumps will encourage developers who were about to release stuff for P3d but spent time on trying to get it ready for MSFS instead, will now release their products for us as planned.

IMHO P3D is alive and well. I like MSFS but, at this point, it is a pretty game not a sim. This is the first week of release so I am not worried. Each will find it's own level, at this point, any one really interested in flying is better off in P3D. I plan on keeping both V5 and MSFS installed.

That's pretty much my thinking, Vic.

I've been exclusively flying MSFS for the last few days, because it's new and I like pretty things.

But I already miss the different type of simming that I use P3D v5 for. I still consider P3D to be my main sim, and plan on using both for the things they are good at moving forward into the future.

I agree Rob that's also for me personal the most common sense to do...

P3D is excellent.  I am just not loading it with up tons and tons of sceneries.  That slows it down even with my pcie ssd.  But some good general scenery and complex airliners - it is fantastic.  I am just glad I am able to use them both happily.

P3D is truly the app right now where one can enjoy study level simulation to one's content.

Great amazing times we live in (for flight simulation that is)

Totally agree, P3Dv5 will remain my main sim for the time being

Vic,

Couldn't agree more. That also is the way "they" refer to it, a game. Hopefully PMDG will change this "game" for the better and come up with a first class rendition of the Boeing line. MSFS2020 is pretty to look at, but alas not to be used as a simulator. Only eye candy, oh well.

I was able once to run the app after installation, I then stopped it, thereafter wanted to run it a second time and all froze. Nothing could be done but to uninstall it. And you guessed it, I can't get it to install again. Of course I filed an error report which is been looked into. I wonder if they can come up with a solution. I am afraid, though, that this is going to be refund prone.

Boy, am I glad that I have P3D and all of its add-ons.

Then we still have a couple months wait. That stinks...

Well this release by MS has given a whole new meaning to "Dumpster fire". I was just thinking this morning about the whole process. I have said before that my only choice for internet service is AT$T and they still deliver their internet "services" by Pony Express. I wonder what is going to happen when we get up one morning and MS has sent out something like we have all seen before: "We have a new Version of MSFS2020 ready for download and we suggest that you delete all your current data and reinstall the complete program". That might bring some interesting posts!

I agree with most of the posts here and I'm enjoying P3Dv5 as much as ever.

I'm just concerned that the PMDG packages will take a heavy toll on MS2020 Fps.....BIG TIME!

If that will be the case, we better stay loyal to P3D. I will anyway.

Exactly the same. Got ms2020 to run a few times and now it won't.  Glad to hear it's not just me.  I'll hold off until either pmdg or fsl port their products over

That must be a UK thing, because I had to look it up. Now my dog feels insulted.
