Going nutz waiting for the patch. It appears that there are no new aircraft, I was hoping for some.

You wouldn't prioritize the weather (which looks nice at least) when a bunch of your paying customers aren't even able to launch the game. Of course they have to fix those sort of things first.

The biggest bone to the rest of us was the simconnect issue. For many users this will bring the sim to even greater heights. My only regret is that they wait to implement those smaller fixes and bunch them all up in one go. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than me on this issue could shed some light as to why that makes sense?

The thing is, they have 120 employees, divided into separate teams. The launcher having issues should not prevent other teams (flight dynamic, autopilot, weather) to fix problems related to their fields. My only explanation is that they took vacations, otherwise if this is the productivity we'll have for the rest of the project, it would be worrying.

Oh yeah sure, that would definitely stop the speculating... (sarcasm)  What that would do is turn it into a nonstop compain-a-thon about what bugs deserve to be fixed first, irritation that it could take any time at all from Id10t's who think that software development is akin to waving a freaking wand, and speculating.

Hopefully one small issue they'll fix is with the raised cockpit view (spacebar) after pressing the 'S' key - it always resets to standard cockpit after releasing 'S', requiring you to click the mouse pointer somewhere and then pressing spacebar again. It should go back to raised view automatically.

I'd also like my tail number, call sign and flight number to be able to be set as the default as soon as the sim is fired up, instead of having to enter it each time.

Should be simple fixes, I'd imagine.

 

Other than that, they are prioritizing the essentials - getting everyone in a position to at least install and use the sim. everything else is secondary, however important it is to those of us already managing to fly. And they are of course addressing some of that at the same time. As it should be.👍

It IS stated very early in the text that an updated roadmap is forthcoming shortly.

I don't doubt that a portion of the effort at Asobo is now focused on the XBox version, but I don't believe for a second that the entire team has just massively swung away from any work on the PC version.

There will be too much underlying code in common, for one thing. Developers also work in different specialized teams. The person working on turbulence modeling or weather injection isn't going to be the same person needed for Xbox graphics integration, just to take one example.

But people will complain no matter what...that's not an excuse or reason to not communicate what is intended to be fixed both long and short term.
