Isnt that better than waiting a long time from now to even try it?

Sure why not, as long as it's marketed in an honest way and clearly indicated as being an early release with possibly a discounted price to boot... for those that wish to pay, experiement & wait for the retail release.

This version, IMO, has too many game breaking issues to be considered a "retail release" or "v1.0" or "legit" for that matter. For a flight simulator that's been marketed as one that will speak to the "pros" among us there should be a working f/d and a/p system, a proper functioning gps, functioning real weather, and certainly more than 10% of the included aircraft should fly with numbers closer to reality (this IS a flightsim afterall). That's just a tiny snipet of some of the issues we're all dealing with as customers of their official retail released 1.0 product.

It's nonsense already, no matter how you try to justify it by saying..."yea but everyone these days is releasing half broken games". It's no excuse...especially considering it's MS who has such deep pockets and access to the most resources and talent available on this planet. It's disgusting and frankly I take it as an insult that they think it's ok to make me just wait for all this after all their BS marketing and I've pad full price for it.

...and that my dear friends is the bottom line, no matter how you slice it.

Going nutz waiting for the patch. It appears that there are no new aircraft, I was hoping for some.

why would they release free airplanes a few weeks after launch, plus default planes are 👎😁  hurry up 3rd party devs, i missed you guys🥰❤️

Why there are so many complains about the update? You guys think devs have no life and should work 24/7?

Microsoft probably chose august, not asobo.  This is just what to expect when a product is rushed.  I personally would rather fly it in its current state than wait 4-6 months for a more polished state.  I would bet that most people who have played have enjoyed a good portion of their experience.  Isnt that better than waiting a long time from now to even try it?

I know what you mean, but from my perspective I didn't have to wait because I already had access to the sim as a Alpha/beta tester since June, and yes your right ever since I've had access to MSFS it is more or less the only flightsim that I have used. I enjoyed MSFS once I understood how to get the most out of it. Especially after getting the control sensitivity right.

Mhh. While I understand prioritizing such issues affecting customers but being able to use the product at all I'm a little worried by the fact that it takes 2 week to address the specific issues listed.

Taking out the simconnect issue, the other points, while important for user experience, doesn't sound to me too much complicated. The feeling I get is that either they had too few resources allocated or they are in need to make and test big changes to fix relatively specific stuff. This doesn't sound good for the much wider lower priority issues ..

Hope to be completely wrong.

Luckily for me current bugs and flaws have no big impact on my personal enjoyment of the software (and I paid 1€ up to now for it).

They fixed simconnect, and that makes me a happy camper. I haven't been able to fly on vatsim or use my logitech panels, and I'm eager to get them into my new sim 🙂

Good news - signing up to Pilot Edge when Simconnect is fixed.

So, as I correctly said a week ago, they will only address fixes related to cashing money from new potential purchases

That's just not true, you have no evidence of this.

I think some of these disparaging comments that are quick to suggest disingenuous behavior on the part of the dev team or publisher likely reveal more about the character of the poster(s) than anything else.

My own pet non-critical issues aren't on the list either but that's OK since I can fly and folks with install issues can't.  This is important.  And I would like my pet issues to go through a proper testing cycle that could easily take longer than a week to get to release, so when they are fixed they are really fixed.

Perfectly happy with this dev update and fix list, please keep 'em coming.

'Reduce' ... this sounds careful ... it should have read 'eliminate'.

Not really, it would be brave for s/w company to say they have eliminated all crashes in there apps, I mean even if such a technically innovotive creation that is MFS was perfect who knows gremlins are lurking on peoples pc's waiting to pounce... 😂

I would not be expecting any new aircraft anytime soon. My guess is the next aircraft we'll see in the sim will be helicopters and gliders. My random estimation I pulled out of nowhere but just a general overview of where they're at, helicopter update holiday 2020 (at the earliest), glider update next summer.

I would expect gliders before helicopters, because they're a straightforward extension of the current flight model. They just need the world modeling of updrafts near ridges and connection to the weather engine to make them worthwhile.

Helicopters as I've said before, should wait as long as needed to do them right.

All the basic elements -- VRS, retreating blade stall, translational lift, 3 and 4 axis autopilots, mast bump, force trim release  (I could go on) -- should all be there in the default flight model, so they don't have to be written from scratch by every 3rd party developer who wants to do a helicopter. I wouldn't be surprised if helicopters are delayed until next Summer if they're done to contemporary DCS and X-Plane standards.

If they release a slapdash effort that's just a port of FSX, they're gonna hear from a few people. 😠

I think the spiciest of hot takes in this thread has to be the one about everyone at Asobo moving over to the Xbox version of the sim, as though that's how... ANYTHING... works.

At the moment, I'd say that's in a dead heat with "I'm outraged that, ten days after release with a massive list of bugs to fix, we're not getting any new aircraft!!!" and the assertion that, because everything didn't get fixed in the first patch, the product "is dead on arrival with little hope for support in the future."

I wonder if it's possible for them to fix that bug on the azure side, and wouldn't need a client fix. Hence the not mentioning it. Just a guess, of course.

I agree. I think this is a fix on their end rather than anything to do with the client software. I say this because the bug is not universal and some geographies have correct weather.

Even after using 'working' live weather in Europe I'll probably end up buying a weather injector anyway unfortunately because the 'working' weather doesn't quite match the metars. Always a few hp off the QNH and always a few degrees off the temperature.

Was landing in EHAM yesterday and the metar stated variable winds 2 knots but I ended up approaching with a 40 knot tailwind which faded to a 6 knot tail wind by touch down. Yeah, not quite right.

Frankly, I think you're using "brave" when the word you are looking for is "stupid."  Claiming to have eliminated all possible crashes (including ones caused by factors that may not have even been discovered yet) is reminiscent of the boss in Dilbert demanding "48-hour advance notice of any unplanned outages."
