Asobo, Acknowledge Our Bugs & Issues!

Featured Replies

When it works its great, and I am sure 3rd party AC will fly properly. But imagine how many bugs need fixing. I am pretty much at the point of just waiting for patches. Looks great, but feels like a beta.

Right now Steam reviews   Mostly Positive,   9700 reviewers /  6800 positive  and 2900 negative,    Of those negative , 99% of them have less than 10 hours in game , They couldn't download / install it.

So I would say that the majority of the people like it,  But that's just facts don't let that get in the way of feelings

Amazon has a 60% 1 star rating, don't let those facts get in the way. I have every major add-on for X Plane and P3DV4.5,lets say I don't trust MS to fix this sim. I was an Alpha/Beta tester since the beginning, with ZERO feedback on the issues I wrote up,I was not alone in that regard, MS show me,don't tell me.........

There is no secret that MSFS was rushed to release! I'm not going to speculate whose decision was to do so, but being involved in software engineering business for long time I can tell you it is not uncommon!

While I'm not happy about bugs and disappointed  with slow acknowledgment  process. We should be grateful that flight summing project of that magnitude being pushed in production. Otherwise, we could have nothing but old good P3D and X-plane competing with each other in slow motion.

I also want to point it that in my beloved X-plane 11  ATC is a joke, and live weather engine is very poor. And things standing this way up to those date. Every single XP shortcoming has to be covered by 3rd party developer. Which create long standing menace of managing plugins which sometime break after update  plugin, simply stop working or conflicting with each other. At least in MSFS we have a good shot from the start. So consider yourself brave early adopters!

Finally, while I feel your guys frustration, I'm trying to be patient and casually optimistic about future of MSFS. And Asobo, if you somewhere up there! Please give us a sign that your listening! Energize 🙂

There is a huge disconnect between Avsim simmers and the general gaming/simming community: the latter doesn't care about "live weather" or having sophisticated features on the Garmin 3000. Asobo and Microsoft are catering to the average "crowd out there" and not to a bunch of aviation geeks.

Its fun what one can do with percentages.  Yes Amazon has lower ratings but its also out of 77 people so compared to the thousands on Steam and the hundreds on Xbox the overall majority of people are happy with the sim. Whether you like that fact or not that is in fact the situation.  Now that being said there is a lot of things needing to be fixed.  Install issues, CTD, Weather, etc.  I am fairly confident that most of the core issues will be fixed they have a development schedule they are communicating it and pointing out what they are fixing.  If they keep that up it will be in good shape (and probably the shape it should had been at launch) but its not the disaster people want to make it to be simply because they have an issue with it and think their particular issue is affecting more people then it is.

ABSOLUTELY!!!  And as a l-o-n-g-t-i-m-e flightsimmer and former pilot and aircraft owner

You are not Asobo's customer base.

I guess I am just mad about the major hype, about the aerodynamics and weather, neither which are working at release,as they should be.

Common sentiment seems to be that XP and DCS do the aerodynamics well but not the weather, P3D does neither particularly well. All of these have been out for years and through various iterations and still don’t get it right to the satisfaction of all.

MSFS has been out for a week and a half.

I don't agree. Go into the Controls menu and set the filter to "All."

Look at the available settings for engine and avionics controls. Those settings are not designed for the "crowd out there" who wouldn't have the faintest clue what most of those settings mean. They're designed specifically for aviation geeks. That's how this sim was marketed for the last year, as something that could work for both the hardcore sim group and the casual flyers.

Right now it's about delivering on that promise, and how long it might take. Also, how much of the heavy lifting Asobo is prepared to do, vs. handing it off to 3rd party developers to make it work. We don't know the answers to any of this yet.

It's coming , maybe not on day one , but it's coming.  Serious this team they have in total from Bing to Asobo , Xbox it's crazy the amount they are betting on MSFS 2020. This is not some start up and they are not thinking / betting on a one hit wonder here. They are here for awhile. This coming year is going to be a crazy ride, but if we all band together and help support the game in what ever way we can it can only help.

I sincerely hope so,but I have major trust issues with MS,Asobo,I am trying to give the benefit of the doubt, but again, they were not communicative with us in Beta,By MS directives?

This should be required reading before people spread misinformation:

  1. We are making Microsoft Flight Simulator. Emphasis on the word SIMULATOR.
  2. Designed for PC, optimized for multiplatform support (e.g. Xbox).
  3. Yes. We are supporting 3rd Party Content Development and Community Content creation. We are aware of the concerns in the current eco-system and are working to address them.
  4. Yes. We genuinely want to work closely with the community in the development of this title.
  5. Accessibility is important to us. Whatever your abilities are, if you want to fly, we are going to do whatever we can to make that happen. Yoke and pedals, mouse and keyboard, controller, etc. No pilot should be left behind.
