Asobo, Acknowledge Our Bugs & Issues!

The 'this isn't for you' stuff is frankly absurd. The simulator will live and die by its adoption in this very community.

Practically half of those invited to the very first preview event were real life pilots. All attendee's were literally taken up in Cessna's beforehand in order to compare it with the simulator. After which all were told square in the face "we're not making this for the guy with the Xbox controller, we're making it for you".

And there is zero reason to believe that isn't the case, yeah they have some major stability issues to fix before they can get on with the wider bug list and subsequent features, but the level of communication so far is more than enough to demonstrate that this project is going in the right direction.

Maybe third parts developers are most disappointed from FSXX, the business with FSX and P3D was huge,

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

I think developers are thrilled. MSFS creates a gateway for much larger audience than hardcore simmers. If they play their hand right, they can make so much more money than before.

Problem is that at the moment there's maybe only half a deck of cards to play with (SDK state).

Its 2 weeks old, and according to aerosoft there working with everyone and listening to every developers and there needs to get the SDK how they all want it, what more do you want to hear only 2 weeks in?

How old is P3D? Even v5 was a joke on release, it took 2 HF to get it sorted out and EA will not be good till 5.1....so for a 2 week old flight sim, it's not bad!^^

In order to instill confidence. Simply Acknowledge bugs and their intent to repair or not. Perhaps they don't know or don't want to say?

Lets take it easy on Asobo. Their are just hired guns. Development studios are often forced to push out unfinished content because marketing thugs from the publishers end (Microsoft) have their corporate agendas to meet.

From a marketing standpoint the release was reasonable. Get the kids on summer holiday, get the folks with too much sparetime due to Corona. Move out of the way of potential blockbusters. The quality is far from release for a simmers demand, but good enough to not burn it down. Casuals are happy. Now they need to address the installation issues, only then they will keep on with the actual content...

Happy with MSFS 🙂

That doesn't matter. This market will be huge like never before in simming. Plus, the new SDK gives newcomers a chance to keep up with the big names. That's one of the reasons many older devs are not amused.

I would be glad to know where I can find the list of the addressed bugs, because  I noticed there where some very annoying which are solved. Heading from 10° to 10° on hardware potentiometers is solved , just as ALT from 1000' to 1000', also addressed. Paris's cathedral is now in place.🙂

Does somebody knows where to see that?

I am not interested in complaints or arguments pro or contra, just want a list of bugs remaining, and a list of bugs addressed, does that exist ?🤔

That's confusing... Asobo does not have a customer base. They are purely a developer, who develops for Microsoft. We are customers of Microsoft.

Then, regarding the talk & claim that Microsoft released the sim too early.. maybe it's the case that there was such a rush to buy the sim (pre-orders etc), that there was no real informed decision as to buy it. We saw so many saying that they have or will be deleting their existing sims prior to MSFS's release.

So, responsibility should be with you guys, for buying the sim so early, instead of waiting a few days to see what the early adopters had to say!

This. Anyone who was active on this forum should not have been surprised that by buying the sim on August 18th, they were getting early access to a glorified beta. That's exactly what testers were saying over and over again. I myself am very, very happy to have this access and am having a blast with the sim.

Ultimately though, there seems to be a clear divide between IFR and VFR flyers. I'm the latter and for me, MSFS2020 is a dream come true.

I knew this too that by pre ordering i probably going to deal with some problems at release date but im ok with that . I was going to say that there’s 2 groups. Naysayers and us with POSITIVE ATTITUDE but there’s  more then that . 1 group that just here to lit 🔥 up any positive thread with negativity . 2 another group with probably more than one account to spread the hate . The group that DEMANDS Asobo/ms to get on their knees and Apologize because they cant stop the world and fix their own list of issues . The ones that try to say and convince others  in so many different ways that P3D  and Xplane are the Holly grail of sims despite being out for so long now . And then There’s the few of us HAPPY That also paid for the P Deluxe and are Fully Aware of the current state of FS2020 and are willing to give this people time to fix things .
To read that some says . YOU ARE NOT ASOBO’S CUSTOMERS BASE . Tells me you either want to upset a few people or just ignore the fact that had been working with 3rd party Dev that we know of for some time now . Listen if we was not their Customer Base WE WOULD OF GOT A FSX LIKE AIRCRAFT WITH A FAKE PAINTED FMC and OVERHEAD. Remember that ?
some dont know that developers are seating in their desk with the MONEY GUYS and PENCIL pushers behind them with A MENTAL  BULLWHIP saying. Make it fast and make me money.

Sorry guys, but I totally disagree with the OP's approach on this one. I also understand the frustration and do agree that this product was released too soon. Again, we may never know why, but 95% of the comments I've read surrounding that just don't ring true. The game was released on the 18th. NINE days later they tell us that a stability patch (and called it that specifically) is coming a mere week later. I think we can all understand that blockers MUST be the priority at the moment. We are mainly struggling with autopilot issues, controller issues, graphical issues and yet a large number of people still can't even get the game installed. Heck a few posts here are complaining about CTD's and they may very well be addressed in a "stability" patch. Plus they claim to be fixing the one thing, SimConnect, that will allow COUNTLESS products to extend the game as we see it. VATSIM, FSUIPC, planes, utilities, etc.

What this update tells me is that they're busy handling the priorities in order. The stuff I'm annoyed by, as I've said elsewhere, I hope to have fixed before the year is out. I've now flown over 25 hours and the first five were a mess. After that it improved and the last 10 or 15 have been fairly pretty stable and incredibly impressive. I'm a VATSIMer and look forward to getting on there, but I won't be able to do it as I want to until we get the Dash or a CRJ/ERJ. Yet, there's ZERO way I go back to X-Plane or move to P3D right now. It'd be like going back to exclusively walking after learning to drive.

We gain virtually nothing for Asobo to say, "We know there are other bugs like, X, Y and Z." Do you suspect they don't know this? Their official twitter and discord channel are filled with those bugs as is Zendesk and these and other forums. They know. They also have to know that this product doesn't grow if those things don't get fixed in a timely fashion. We may argue about what "timely" means, but I've worked with way too many developers that put out a bug-laden product and then disappear for months on end with zero feedback about those bugs and the process. Asosbo seems, to me, to be showing us that they're working hard on things and will be releasing patches in a time frame I can work with.

Again, I'm not even going to begin to get antsy until the end of the year -- which is when I (and 99% of us) expected this product to even remotely have a shot at being released. I'm actually glad to have gotten the game early instead of having to just make due with five more months of speculation, etc.

So you disagree that they should even mention that they know about the other issues? You think it’s better that they act like they don’t exist? I’m not saying a fix has to come soon because I know it’ll take time - I’m saying that if they’re making a known issues page that covers all issues they are supposedly aware of and it doesn’t say live weather, then that’s a problem.

It’s misleading that they have a “known issues” forum page that doesn’t cover these essential issues. That implies that they don’t know about it. It would be extremely beneficial to them to say, “look, we know live weather is producing incorrect results in much of the world - we will work on it” rather than putting it aside and acting like it isn’t an issue. The weather was one of the biggest selling reasons for the sim.

And also, this thread got WAY out of hand. Wasn’t expecting all of these harsh responses. I just wanted to hear that Asobo is aware of our issues with the weather.

That is only somewhat accurate. If it were entirely accurate, we would have simply been presented with a modified v2.0 version & "reincarnation" of the 5-month only, Feb. - July "Microsoft Flight" fiasco of 2012.
