what's the fascination with 60 fps in a flight sim? This isn't an esport competitive title where every millisecond counts. The goal here, well at least for me is to sustain at least 30 fps in 4K Ultra settings.

I have the FPS stats from dev mode showing, and it is bouncing back and forth between being Main Thread and GPU limited. Does this mean I have a pretty well balanced system? BTW, my 8GB GTX 1070 is only using about 3.5GB of VRAM according to the same stats display.

Smoother joystick and camera performance is what I notice, why not run the game at 60 fps if the computer can handle it?

i use V-Sync ON @60fps and have no trouble, who says its broken?

the only time i turn it off is when playing with the settings to see how far the fps can go, up to 70,80 or 90fps,

but for buttersmooth flying i turn it ON.

Yup, 60fps is way more responsive than 30, Especially when using Track-IR.......

That's what I have set, but I have my monitor at 30Hz. It is working very well, and I almost never dip below 30 fps.

Of course I'd take higher frame rates if the computer can handle it, but many people seem to be obsessed with getting 60+ fps in a flight sim. If it's easily achievable then I'm all for it, but even with 30fps, the sim is still smooth and enjoyable.

Don't disagree, the Sim is absolutely playable at 30fps - but aim for 60 and you have some wiggle room for NYC + airliners surely.

Because 60 fps have nothing to do with competitive gaming per se.

The point is that a stutter free experience at 60 fps will ALWAYS be superior to a stutter free experience at 30 fps. And that is why people try to achieve 60 fps.

I have to try to enable V-Sync + G-Sync in Nvidia Panel, but so far the game have run smooth for me with only G-Sync enabled.

Chasing the number. Last time I looked, none of my planes had an fps counter on the panel. I don’t need to see the number 60. I need to see as beautiful a depiction as I can get in a smooth presentation. For me on a 1440p monitor that is 30 fps. This sim can pack a lot of niceness into 30 frames. My opinion only.
