The same reasons I use P3DV5, add ons and it works great. Also, I only have room for one sim on my SSD and I like my seasons. The new thing is awesome but still needs work. If I had more room, I might get the new thing, but it would be the cool looking sports car that you take out on weekends, I still need something more versatile and P3DV5 fills the need. Edited September 13, 20205 yr by johncott Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder. John C.

Not since 1979 when all this began has a Flight Sim ever worked flawlessly Every single release the user has learned to work through them, tinker and iron them out and expand them to a point where they are borderline crazy and they no longer understand the meaning of flawlessly 🤣 Edited September 13, 20205 yr by Matthew Kane Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

September 13, 20205 yr Author OK. I replied not yet, will probably purchase when the dust settles a bit. Besides, I told him, I have enough airplane models in the old sim that don't fly their real world counterparts without buying a whole hangar full of ones in the new sim. 🙂 My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.
September 13, 20205 yr Hey, there are some guys & perhaps gals out there who still fly with FS98. And guess what? It works for them...
September 13, 20205 yr I always thought FSX is the most flawed sim out there. 😄 As overspeed3 says.....if it works for you give it some more love!🥰 I'm a FS9.x fan myself.😎 My FS Videos
September 13, 20205 yr The older sims still retain their value. Just because a particular sim is no longer supported by its developer doesnt mean you have to hop off the bandwagon on to something new. If you have the old sim working for you as you like it, keep using it. OK you dont get the all updates you would by being on a newer, supported sim. I still have FSX using Windows 7 on a different rig primarily for the reason I still enjoy flying the PMDG MD-11. I would also say as an answer to the OP, there's a 4th reason why. The investment (sometimes large) made in purchasing the hardware (the PC, peripherals to make the sim all the more realistic) are also part of the reason why I have not mothballed my FSX rig. September 13, 20205 yr @the OP, they work flawlessly AND fluidly even on a rather old rig... September 13, 20205 yr Nice chats, & thats why still use FS2004.. It works well on Windows 10, I have 9 different themed install, (for various reasons), Freeware scenery for my home country, as well as aircraft that are not on other sims, amazing freeware support, & also works on most PC's without tweaks.. (sorry for butting in regarding FS2004!) Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
September 13, 20205 yr FS2004 may miss many things compared to modern sims, but having 60 FPS fixed, without a single stutter, with all settings maxed, in a complex aircraft, with Ultimate Traffic at 100% and maybe with the wonderful night lighting of Ultimate Terrain, is an experience which has its peculiar appeal. And I think FS2004 had the best sky/clouds visuals until MFS came along. "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".

Good point. I agree, it is, indeed, a fourth reason..........Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. September 13, 20205 yr Well, it's the immersion factor that's the most important, actually more so than realism. We saw this with a sim that we built up, A real pilot flew the sim &, on landing, 'bumped' himself in the seat, anticipating touchdown. This was in a sim, using a payware Avro Shackleton add-on, in FS2004, with freeware scenery from Aeroworx for South Africa, using a Celeron 4GB PC with integrated graphics. Granted we were using a projector for scenery & a screen for dashboard. Again, we had a young pilot come and practice landings at Luton airport in a Boeing, as she was offered a pilot's job at DHL, & she wanted to see how it looked. She got the job. There, also using FS2004 & freeware scenery & plane. Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
