Does this patch make any changes to the options in UserCfg.opt?   I have mine set read only (to lock out sharpening).   I'm installing the patch now and set it to read write just in case.

My settings were completely reset mainly to low from high/ ultra.

I had another test flight. Definitely seeing major differences related to usage of Main Thread, GPU and CoherentGTDraw. Before I was seeing a lot more red spikes in the Main Thread and a lot of red in the CoherentGTDraw. Now the same flights (auto pilot) show solid yellow 99% of the time on the Main Thread, the GPU is solid red, and the CoherentGTDraw has a lot more yellow and even green bars. In fact I see a lot more occasional green bars in the Main Thread now. Monitoring the CPU and memory usage in Process Lasso also shows that my CPU is barely averaging 40% usage in the air. I am getting 23 FPS and it is very smooth. In fact, I cranked up a few more settings to push my GPU to find out where it falls down and the GPU was solid purple but still no stutters. I was averaging 17-18 FPS but it was still very smooth. Zero stutters. But if I shut down Process Lasso I do see stutters, so keeping that running on my rig is a must.

Not saying this is you but it's get's hard to patch a sim that everyone is Moding.  I left mine alone accept for scenery which does not affect core files.

No certainly not me I didn't touch anything, left it standard apart from adjusting the ingame sliders and options. I had it tweaked up just fine but the patch ruined it.

But on a more positive note I've readjusted some more options and have got it running ok again, though not as good as before the patch.

Took off Vsync and ingame frame limiter and set Nvidia control panel setting to limit frames to 40 fps and that has smoothed it out again and dropped my gpu temps by 10 degrees. Curiously I had tried this before but always found the ingame limiter gave me better results but seems something has changed there.

Live weather is still broken though, was working before. Now just seems random and not related to actual weather in that location

Also noticed some wind turbines inside some buildings around London city and an airliner submerged in a field near North Weald airport on the outskirts of London. Never seen those before and been flying in that area quite often.

So far, loving the performance boost. Startup time is less than half it was before. Happy camper here.

I  try and leave the FPS counter off, but things definitely feel smoother.  I was just in the 172 selecting RNAV approaches in the G1000 and those seem to work (at least when the data is accurate).  I was able to switch back and forth between IAF points and it worked (and didn't crash or vector me backwards).

Weather seemed accurate for me and definitely had realistic winds around my home airport (KBUF - Buffalo).  The skies even had the haze we've had all day from the fires way out west (yes, that is really impacting us way over here).

Also, please, please remember to move any mods out of your folder for now.  Just move them to an external folder for now.  This patch seems to have changed a lot, so you can't expect mods to work right away.  Give the authors time to update.

I have a similar rig, except 4790k and 16GB and running 1080P.  I would say there is no need to run Ultra anything to give you an FPS boost, there is a great video on YouTube (can't find link) where it visually shows the difference between low and ultra on all settings - my eyes couldn't tell much difference visually between high and ultra, even in some scenarios there was a negligible difference between med-high-ultra on some settings.  On a rig like yours (similar to mine) I would say the sweet spot is med-high with some settings on low and it still looks fantastic.

Your LODs could come down to 100 to level things out as well I would say...

Not happened during an 1h flight. HDG & Alt sel with a few change in VS. G1000 C172

Just tried a flight in the C172 G1000 and the AP was fine until about 1-hr into the flight then the MFD (on right) shut off causing the AP to also turn off. Switched off-on the avionics bus 2 which brought back the display, then turned AP back on, ALT and Heading were still engaged. Never happened to me before, failures checked and still turned off. MFD continued to shut off every few minutes so ended the flight. Strange that before takeoff got a backup battery warning also never happened before. Something funny going on.

I wasn't judging solely on fps , before the patch it was silky smooth at a constant 40 fps, after the patch, stuttering all over the place and fps dropped from a steady 40 to 25-40 which I had never experienced before. Plus a 20% increase in GPU core usage.

Also the weather, which had always worked for me from day one suddenly became very inaccurate,at least in the UK where I have been flying mostly.

Yeah..  for me it seems to have dropped the CPU requirement and increased (slighty) the GPU usage, which means that scenery loading no longer blips the CPU to 100% causing a stutter.

Same results here on my i7-6700k. About 10% more GPU usage and no more CPU hitting 100% with stutters.

This is the one, I think.

Just wanted to chime in and suggest please anyone who can directly contact asobo, tell them they broke the game!

9900k 5ghz, 32gb ddr4 3800 ram, nvme game drive and boot drive, windows 2004, nvidia driver 452.06 rtx 2070

tried with new video driver option of latency reduce performance thingy in windows display settings off and on.

when I fly glass Cessna 172 my own benchmark, over Tacoma wa - photogrammetry, high settings or Ultra, the game loses major performance and Gpu stutters, hitches drops major frames and freezes whole pc in os and in game at this moment Gpu issues happen..

this is over Tacoma, wa and Seattle, wa photogrammetry areas, live weather and wind, no ai and all players on.

major performance issues now compared to it being smooth as silk before this new patch update.

how they didn’t test or see this major glaring problem is. Beyond imagination!!!

I have screenshots don’t know how to do them on this board!!!!

asobo should not have released this. Game is really broke now...

before I had smooth as silk flying over Tacoma wa and over Seattle to land at Renton, now in full screen mode I lose major FPS, performance and whole pc freezes.

this happens regardless of settings, overclocked, etc.

never happened prior..

I can’t fix this issue it’s major!!!

i see this is a new account . go to their forums and do the same open a new account and report your issues .

Apart from the more erratic performance I was also concerned that the GPU was now running constantly at 100% and my temps were going up from about 65 to 82C. Fortuntately going back to nvidia control panel frame rate limiting to 40 fps has mostly cured that but not as good as it was before the patch.

Can you activate Process Lasso with this new patch installed.  Does it give additional FPS improvement?

You definitely could. Personally, I've only tested it without it on because as soon as I fired up the sim to test the patch without it, I was happy with the results. I then uninstalled Process Lasso, mainly because I didn't want to have to run software like that in the first place. Fingers crossed my good results continue without it!
